Re: High liver values - Please help!

Thank you so much for the reply and the link turtle. When I saw the numbers in your post my jaw dropped! Those are so very high! I would have been freaking out! I hope your old girl is doing well.

I will look into the SAMe. I have never heard of it before.

High liver values - Please help!

Hi PBF, I took my old girl Cheyenne in for her annual checkup the other day and had a full blood workup done. The vet said she has very high liver values and has suggested we do an acid test, ex-ray, and ultrasound. I also discovered a lump on the front of her right rear leg that the vet aspirated a...

Re: odd eating behaviors

Mine are fed on separate sides of the kitchen. My motto is don't ask for trouble. I don't want to have to break up a dog fight over food. I feel like this way they will never be in a position to fight over food. I am a preventative maintenance kind of person... lol

Re: odd eating behaviors

Feed the dogs in separate areas. Put down the bowl, tell them to eat, if they haven't within a couple minutes pick it up and put it away until next meal time. Repeat until they eat. Alternatively you could get a work to eat toy and feed out of that, give them something to do for awhile, there is no...

Re: Alternatives to the E collar?

I was just reading back through my posts and came across this one. While reading it I could feel the anxiety build up in my chest. I had forgotten what a stressful time that was until I read back through..then it felt like it was yesterday! I just wanted to update and say that I am SOOOOOO GLAD we h...

Re: Pit proof toy suggestions needed!

I purchased a ring and a stick online about a month ago and Bella LOVES the stick but doesn't show much interest in the ring. We play tug with the stick and then she lays down and chews on the end of it but it shows hardly any marks. I LOVE it! Bella is a DESTROYER and this is one of only two things...

Re: TPLO

My girl Bella had her right leg done the week before Christmas. By the time we went for her 8 week check-up following the surgery, she was not putting any weight on the left leg. She had torn the other ligament while on restricted activity! We went ahead and did the left one that day. It seems like ...

Re: Sweet Steel Magnolia - still looking

Did she make it to her new home? I am soooo in love with her. I wish I could take another dog. I would drive all the way there to get her!
I hope she gets the best home that pampers her like a princess for the rest of her life!

Re: Cone of shame-home alone

Kaytenmags gave me an excellent description (with pictures!) of her setup when I was going through the same thing. It is under my post "Alternatives to the e-collar". If you do a search of my posts you should find it. I havent been a member very long so I dont have very many posts. I have ...

Re: Jumping need help!!

my dog Piggie loves to jump up on people, and since we want her to get her cgc we've been working on this a lot. what we have done is put greetings on que. When we see a person who looks like they are going to want to say hi, I tell piggie to "go say hello" and about a foot away from the ...

Re: Torn ACL...

:wow OHMIGOSH! I am so sorry Kaytenmags! I can only imagine how that must be for you....and her. I have heard that if the body is rejecting the plate they will do that but I cannot imagine why she continues to chew it up now that the plate and screws are out. I am already preparing (financially) for...

Re: Alternatives to the E collar?

Well, we found out that Bella can still get to her leg around the inflatable collar. She sits funny (kinda like a human with her legs out in front of her) and if she sits to one side with her leg in the air she can get to her knee. UGH!!!! Now the plan is to drive her to the vet every morning and pi...
