Re: Recall, Kirkland and Taste of the Wild

That's why I don't feed TOTW (tried it once, not that impressed with how the dogs did on it either) Diamond has a recall every year about one thing or another. Maybe you could say it's because there QC is good and they catch stuff, but I tend to think they should catch that stuff BEFORE it hits the ...

Re: Heartworm Treatment Success Story

How effective is the Levamisole against the adult worms? I know it kills off the microfilaria in the bloodstream, which would arrest the progression of the disease. The antibiotics kill of bacteria needed by the adults to reproduce, as well. Does the Levamisole slowly kill off the adults or is it si...

Re: Heartworm Treatment Success Story

Interesting! I haven't heard of this alternative treatment! Glad you had success with it. My foster is two weeks out of being done using the Immiticide. so I feel your pain on the scary part of treatment.

Re: Martin earned his CD

Thanks Sarah! I will have to look that up. He's got an awesome send out, grab and turn, his issue is he really, really wants to stop about three feet out (after a lightning like performance up to this point) give it the terrier shake, then chew it (or run to his crate if it's visible) If he brings i...

Re: Martin earned his CD

I'm going to try to. Also need 2 more legs for Rally excellent. We will try to get his last 2 URO legs this weekend (not very many UKC events in this area)
We've been working on some of the next level stuff, but our retrieve still needs a lot of work.

Martin earned his CD

last week end at Nor Cal Terrier. I wasn't pleased with our performance (that building weirds him out) He did get a nice ribbon for High Scoring Am Staff in Rally http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v501/Kingsgurl1/460704_3709716661149_1222580851_33703281_2112379111_o.jpg This week end, the ribbons we...

Re: Gaining Weight

Agreed. Not that tough to feed twice a day, even if you get up late, the feedings don't need to be 12 hours apart. Smaller meals allow for more efficient digestion/use of calories. The body tends to store what it doesn't use and this follows the same concept as you not eating a huge meal before you ...

Re: Gaining Weight

The flirt pole is really more about chasing the toy on the end of it. Sometimes dogs who will not tug still like to chase :) As dogs age, their metabolism slows down (just like with people) Dogs tend to put on weight pretty evenly, so it is often mistaken for 'muscle' when it is just a pretty even d...

Re: CGC vs CLASS?

CLASS seems much more thorough. It seems like it could be hard for your average pet owner to stick with it long enough. This is a rather sad commentary on general pet ownership, not the program.
