Re: Sadie isn't well

Visited Sadie before calling it a night. She looks miserable. She stood the whole time. Tried laying, tried sitting, but she's cut down her whole abdomen so I imagine standing gives the least amount of pressure on the stitches. Poor baby. Broke my heart. Standing, stiff, head down, tail tucked :( ht...

Re: Sadie isn't well

the thing that really scares the crap out of me is how sick she was while not showing it. If I had waited until she was REALLY sick like your normal dog, it may have been too late. Ugh I can't even go there mentally.

Re: Sadie isn't well

This was Sadie at 4am as we waited for the results of her repeat xray. She was attentive and thwacked her tail on the bench whenever someone would walk by. Who would have thought she was so sick inside. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/s720x720/563935_10150641544583195_696558194_...

Re: Sadie isn't well

Her breathing wasn't labored. Lung sounds were good. Even her blood work came back normal. The only one who thought anything at all was wrong with my dog was me because my normally insane dog was acting like an average dog. She was eating, drinking, peeing and pooping. Vet: *She doesn't fit the symp...

Re: Sadie isn't well

Nicole was it a raw fed bone? (I am asking for my own curiosity re raw bones) It was, but we had stopped giving them to her because she isn't safe with them. My husband gave her a small one (the last one in our freezer) on Sunday so it's either that one or maybe a random one she found burried in he...

Re: Sadie isn't well

So they did the surgery. It took them a long time to get back to me and now I know why. The rib bone had pierced through her stomach and into the diaphragm and was poking into her chest cavity. Stomach contents were spilling into her abdominal cavity, and her stomach wall had started to adhere to th...

Re: Sadie isn't well

Out of curiousity why aren't they considering doing a barium study? In addition to showing if there was a perferation leaking or how things are moving i have had good luck with it coating and helping move things thru. Either way fingers crossed for yall. I will ask. ETA - called and asked. Apparent...

Re: Sadie isn't well

My future as of now -- Xray looks the same. Loss of definition around the stomach, but otherwise the same. Flyball tournament is cancelled for me. Need to stay home and deal with this. Sadie was not running (still fixing her box turn) but I was going to box load. Feel bad leaving them in a lurch but...

Sadie isn't well

Yesterday Sadie threw up. No big deal. I noticed she was acting a little off. Hunching her back, abdomen tense, didn't want to move, just wanted to lay down. Sat in the middle of the dining room (middle of the house) so she could watch me instead of following me around the house like a shadow. Didn't...

Re: NEW owner of a difficult pitbull puppy

I promise this puppy is not being aggressive. It may be excited, playful, and maybe a little frustrated, but puppies are not "aggressive" - the tricks I have used in the past is to put a treat between your fingers snugly so the pup can't snatch it out. When it bites, yelp like an injured p...

Re: New PB owner in Austin introducing myself, need advice

Hi and welcome! This is a new change so of course this is going to be a challenge and stressful for your dogs. Once you get access, go to the training section and check out the two week shut down sticky. It is a good, smart way to integrate new dogs with each other that better sets them up for succe...
