Re: Ear Cropping.....your opinion?

Sometimes a controversial subject, what is YOUR opinion on ear cropping? To do or not to do? Battle, Show, or Long? My opinion is that I personally would never do it to a dog for cosmetic reasons. The risks outweigh the point of getting the procedure done.. Its scary to think how many dog have died...

Re: Good Lord, anything else at this time?

Im holding back tears and my heart is now mending after the thought that she wouldnt be with us anymore. Im so happy to hear that she has another chance. I just have one thought. It does not matter to me if within the next year or even within a day after this surgery, you decided it was right to put...

Re: Names I'd like to never hear again*

My local shelter would win if there was a contest of most stupid names givin to dogs. One time a queensland mix was named Martini. I crossed it out on her paper because it was so horrible and I think someone else named her appropriately. Yes, my dogs name is Buddy, but his name was chosen before we ...

Re: Allergens in the fall?

Uh, weird question. Are steroids known for giving STANKY gas? Being on a raw diet my girls do not have stinky butts. Within a few hours of taking her first pill I had to open a window! Im not completely sure, but I know that Buddy was oddly gassy for the time period that he was taking steroids. Rig...

Re: Allergens in the fall?

I called yesterday and my vet wasnt in. Buddy started to reverse sneeze a lot yesterday and is becomeing more red, so I knew I needed to get him some relief soon. So I asked them to just fill the prescription and I found out that he is using Hydroxyzine as of right now. Hes using two 50mg a day. Las...

Re: Allergens in the fall?

Buddy is sadly dealing with some pretty bad allergies to for the past few months. I thought he had an ear infection a while back, went to the vet to find out that it was an allergy and had no yeast/bacteria infection. He said it was food, so a change of diet to Blue Adult and some allergy meds(pret...

Picky Eater!

So I buy blue buffalo, suppose to be top of the line right? Guess not since from the beginning Buddy has been sneaking off to eat the other dogs food, which could be some kirlkand brand from costco or just pedigree. Note:The other dog belong to my grandmother and Buddy is me and my boyfriends dog. T...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

I agree with both of these. I have also noticed a new trend of people altering their ears to look like elf ears!!! :headbang:[/quote] There is a thread in the General section and someone is asking about other peoples opinion on what specific crop job and there is a picture showing the the top four c...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

Ive concluded in my own mind that me personally respect people who get GOOD cropped jobs on their dogs. That means it fits the dogs face and it is done by a professional at the appropriate age and etc. Everyone is entitled to do as they please with there dog, as long as it is appropriate(and legal),...

Re: Buddys Parvo Story.

I'm so happy to hear that Buddy made it through parvo!!! Your story sounds a lot like ours. We had our puppy Otto for a day and then had to take him to the e-vet where he was diagnosed with parvo... about $1000 later he's still here and kicking (it's been over 2 years). These dogs are worth it and ...

Re: Buddys Parvo Story.

Thanks ! I always tell people that hes a fighter.
& by that, he has survived parvo, and two pneumonia scares when very young.

:)
Hes a special miracle to us.

Re: what kind?

I dont think there is a BEST food, just what works best for you dog. The only time I ever give "scraps" is when there is leftover vegetables. can go wrong with some lefotover carrots, greenies(broccoli) or a tiny bit of mashed potatoes.(plain, no butter or pepper or salt) I dont do it a lo...
