Re: harness?

Unless Peaches is pulling, I refuse to use a harness on her. Because they are natural pullers, they tend to work against the force of the harness. Which in hand can be very tiring and good exercise. But I always use her pinch collar on regular walks. Don't get me wrong when we go hiking and I tell h...

Re: Round Cell Tumor

Thank you very much for your response and comforting advice. When I talked to my vet he said that there is a heart monitar, and that there are several people in the operating room. Next time, I talk to him I will ask him about your questions. Tomorrow, I meet with the holistic vet to see what she s...

Ideal Neutering Age...?

We had Peaches spayed at 5 months and 33lbs. Pinto on the other hand, is a male, and is currently between 3-4 months old, and weighs about 33 lbs as well. I am more concerned about being sure I can neuter him as soon as I should because he is a male and I really don't want him to have any sexual ten...

Re: Any suggestions on skin supplements?

You will be amazed what dogs are allergic to, mine is allergic to beef, so things like heartguard, bones, and many training treats make him itch. He's also allergic to chicken, but not nearly as severely. Sometimes I feel so STUPID! I have really not paid much attention to treats and bones as much ...

Re: Any suggestions on skin supplements?

From my experience TOTW(Taste of the Wild) Salmon formula is better on my dogs coat and skin than any of the other formulas. I also do 2 pumps of salmon oil on their food. They are soft and glossy :) I didn't even know they had a salmon formula! I will definitely be switching her to that! 8) I know...

Re: Any suggestions on skin supplements?

When I got her was using blue buffalo and my vet suggested Taste of the Wild a few months back. I don't plan on changing her food again unless there is a real need to. Thank you for your suggestion I will look into it!

Re: Any suggestions on skin supplements?

The vet recommended Taste of the Wild Wetlands which is a very high end duck dry dog food. I am not using any supplements at the time. (thanks for asking, I should have put this information in my original post!)
It would also have to be something for her age, she is only 9 months old.

Re: Adoption Ban?

MHM... We wanted to adopt a pitbull instead of buying from a breeder. Went to the shelter and that is what they told us. They said, "Oh no we put THOSE animals down!" Needless to say I no longer support said shelter. We wound up getting a pup from a breeder and he has been riddled with he...

Any suggestions on skin supplements?

Peaches has a pretty dry coat and is very prone to hot spots and allergies. Any one have suggestions for supplements for her coat?
I am also switching her to Malaseb shampoo.

I'm very sorry to hear about the UK banning our furry friends but good for you for being an advocate for the breed! Fostering can be a very difficult thing I'm sure, but we need people like you!

Happy Posting!
