Re: Tucker doesn't like kibble ...

So glad Tucker is continuing to improve!

Fingers and paws crossed here that the bloodwork will show a significant improvement.

Re: B.A.R.F. 101

IMO kidney is the worst smelling organ! You can cut and portion when it is partially frozen. It is easier and cuts down on the smell. What type of kidney did you feed? I give a small amount daily or my boy gets cannon butt! You can usually get beef liver at most grocery stores. Organ should be 50% l...

Re: Tucker doesn't like kibble ...

Sorry there are no real answers yet. But great news about his heart! I hate to even suggest this, but is it possible he has a tumor elsewhere? When my Zoee had her large tumor in her abdomen she was anemic and my vet said it was because of that. Hopefully that is not even a possibility for Tucker. H...

Re: Allergens in the fall?

Ask for Temeril P. It has a much lower dosage of steroid then Prednisone so the side effects aren't as bad. We haven't gone to a holistic vet yet but with Cherry's allergies, I don't think it is an option. I'm pretty sure we are just going to have to do Temeril P and Cephalexin the rest of her life...

Re: Is Cash Underweight?

I don't want to say he is carrying extra weight because I feel that might imply his food could/should be cut to some degree. For what I am assuming is a laid back house dog, he looks good to me. If he were to lose any weight but retain his current physique... He would be what I call "skinny-fa...

Re: Raw Question

I feed pork necks. Khan doesn't have problems with them. I feed the type you are describing cut up from the grocery store. I wouldn't say the bones are spongey. They are pretty dense IMO. I know I have heard some people don't like to feed them because they are pretty boney. I usually feed the once e...

Re: Tucker doesn't like kibble ...

his teeth are all sorts of wonky ...they line up fine, but he has huge gaps in between some of them because it seems his lower jaw is longer than it needs to be. his chin bumps the bottom of his bowl when he eats, and i noticed that if i hand feed him (yes, i've been willing to hand feed to get him...

Re: Tucker doesn't like kibble ...

I have been using honest kitchen for my 1 cat who is having issues keeping real raw down. She goes completely nutso for it! My parents dog is the pickiest eater I have ever seen. They are feeding Holistic select and he is eating that well.

Or the kidney failure that would have followed if you didn't catch it soon enough... Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin, so the effects of it will be additive over time. I know! I just stocked up on it the other day and noticed one had the extra D, I was wondering if that's how your little scare ha...

Re: Pros/Cons for spaying 8 yr old?

I think the risk is minimal vs the obvious benefits.

I'd have pre anesthesia bloodwork done and probably find a vet who is comfortable doing the procedure.
