heres the bottom line as I see it....we give treats to our dogs to satisfy ourselves, not our dogs (i may be wrong, but dogs naturally eat to survive, they don't instinctively snack). If our dogs were able to speak, and tell us what they prefer, i would bet a weeks pay that they would prefer a run ...

I think the amount of shedding depends on the hair length. One of my pit bulls had very very short hair, it was bristle like and very fine. It was shar pei short, if you've ever petted one. Aja has longer hair, and sheds much more noticeably. But I still don't think it's excessive. BayouRat, did he ...

Ooh poor thing! I had to smile at the saline bag on his foot, though. If he's got all that stuff on his paw, I'd take the e-collar off...that's just me though, I hate those things. They always make my dogs so much more stressed out. My current vet doesn't send home e-collars and my pets have done so...

Misskiwi, Missevette2u and yourself, lets chase the new girl and all she posts to make her look bad The problem is not that we disagree, but the way that you are picking on the posts of many educated people. You think you are made to look bad because you're new, but what I see is a new person posti...

I have one to add. Recently I was caring for a puppy that had a very severe case of coccidia. The vet recommended that I treat all the pets in the house for coccidia, as it is highly transferable and hard to kill with disinfectants. The treatment is Albon, which is 5% sulfadimethoxine, an antibiotic...

It's a coupon code so you get it off the list price. Sign up for their mailing list now so you have a code if you order. You can google codes for the site too, and usually find some, but they may not be the highest discount.

Where is MissKiwi when you need her? Who is Dr. Kronfield, and where did that article come from? "The consequence of eating a diet high in starches is seen in bulky, thick stools." By that logic, people don't digest carbs either. I don't mean to be rude either, but you've come on here and ...

Well no luck with the vitamin supplements from Petsmart. I am going to try the fish oil from Walmart. Is it located in the cooking isle? My dog is shedding profusely. I can rub my hand on the back of his neck and globs of his undercoat falls out. His coat is shiny and clean just sheds alot. I guess...

But Diamond is also the company who has had some serious quality control issues in the past. What else are they NOT doing?? Canidae and Timberwolf don't do much for marketing either... but they cost more. Well, Timberwolf is bloody full of itself lately and they think they can charge whatever they ...

I don't understand how the food can look so good on paper and be so much less expensive than so many other brands... thats why I'm waiting... what gives? I think it's because it's made by Diamond. They don't really spend money on marketing, food reps, free samples, etc. I can get Diamond Naturals o...

Re: nail clipping...

any help or suggestions would be great...I try to "sweet talk" him and tell him its okay (because it is okay) but he is still afraid.... By telling him what he is doing is okay, you're reinforcing him acting like a brat. I'm not nice about nails...there is no opportunity for my dogs to ru...

While I wouldn't feed kibble with wheat in it, I feed it in biscuits. They eat such small amounts that it's not really an issue for me. There's nothing wrong with chicken meal. The only things I avoid in treats are artificial preservatives and random animal meals or fats. Occasional biscuits are fi...

How long has he been sick? My dogs all got a bout of the doggie flu a few months ago, and were pooping everywhere. They got the Eukanuba low res to control the diarrhea for a few days. But I wouldn't feed it long term, it's mostly corn grits and the fish is preserved with ethoxyquin.(says so right o...
