And dang...I REALLY like the cat food ingredients, but it only comes in tiny bags for about $2 a pound. I have to buy the 20lbs bags.

You can put him on a very bland diet, and slowly switch back to his regular food.

Or, switch foods after the bland diet. Some dogs don't do well on foods that have too much meat, some don't do well with too much filler. So if you have a food with one, I would try the other.

It's barely been three weeks, right? Still not enough time. Especially since you switched suddenly and not slowly. It can take awhile for them to catch up.

I don't worry about it, because it's got a high margin of safety. But that's me.

I just buy the capsules of fish oil from Walmart, it's cheaper and it works pretty well. But I've heard that's a good brand, too. Any idea why their coats are so bad? What are you feeding the dogs and the cats? I think you've mentioned the dog food before...but I can't remember. If you add fish oil,...

I add one vitamin E capsule per salmon oil capsule. Let me check the dosage on my pills....they are 200 IU per pill.

Other than that, I don't really know. If you bathe her, bathe her less....if you don't, try bathing her more with a good quality shampoo, like Earth Bath or Buddy Wash.

That's true. The dog club near me is almost all long haired dogs like German Shepherds and Malinois, and almost all are intact. You can't see anything until you are sitting, and they climb on you to hug you...then there's stuff brushing your leg. :skurrd:

Add vitamin E with the salmon oil. It really increases the absorption. Without the E, a lot of oil is wasted. Apparently flax oil and cottage cheese work together as well, but I've never tried that combination.

Never used it, but bleh. The first ingredient is corn. And the FAQ on their site has a lot of information that goes against pretty much everything I know about dog nutrition(like the info on puppy food).

I'm so glad he's doing better, and thankfully it is not DM. I've seen a dog with it, and it's so horribly sad....
