Hey guys

I would wager that legitimate breeders are responsible for an equal share of dead shelter dogs. Who in their right mind would breed a single dog knowing how many there are being euthanized every day.

Training near Barrington IL -Non choke-chain- Suggestions?

I live in Volo, IL and i am looking for "training" for our 6 month old puppy. By training i mean help with her want/need to rush right towards every person and dog she sees. Right now its cute but i worry about her rushing up to the wrong dog or person or her deciding one day she isnt a cu...

Re: Food & Water - When & How much?

Is there a calculator that gauges how much a dog should eat based on their size?

Kaner was eating 11 ounces of canned dog food per day. He would usually get 2 treats a day and a big bone with some meat on it every saturday afternoon.

Does this sound like enough? Too much?

Re: Crates/Cages - Pads or pillows?

This is what Kaner sleeps on now. My mom sews mini quilts for babies. She gave him two without filler. Not sure where that blue Christmas blanket came from in the pic lol probably my niece when she visited. {img]http://www.wiremunky.com/image/kaner/kanersbed.jpg[/img] With the other beds he chews a ...

Food & Water - When & How much?

With Kaner (an APBT) we use one of those water bowls that just keeps filling the bowl as he drinks. With food we would fill a soup sized bowl with food and he would eat a little in the morning. Maybe some in the afternoon and finish it off before night time. He was never super annoying about food. N...

Crates/Cages - Pads or pillows?

Kaner chewed up at least 5 dog beds in his cage before we got him futon mattresses to sleep on. We tried giving him chew toys or even real bones to curb the bed chewing but no matter what he would tear a hole in those flimsy cheap pillows you get at walmart/pet stores etc. I was thinking about getti...

Crates/cages - What size should they be?

While searching for metal crates i see "good for dogs between XX and XX pounds". I also see measurements. Aside from the obvious like making sure the dog can stand up and turn around. What else is important? Is there such a thing as too big? So lets say i have a dog that fits in 36 l X 20 ...

Re: Rentless Romance

Leashes would have probably solved the problem. My moms house has a back yard that opens up into a marshy wooded area and it goes on for a mile with no neighbors so we were taking advantage of off leash fun when my cousin arrived. There was no barking or growling and it was like dancing... each woul...

Rentless Romance

Today we had a family dinner at my moms place. Kaner came with and my cousins apbt Tyson showed up. Both males. We took them out to the yard to play. They immediately began trying to mount each other. They continued this for at least 30 minutes before we finally decided to break it up. Tyson is a li...

Re: Bald Spot on Tail - How to stop this from happening?

Its not painful. I can squeeze it with a good amount of pressure and he doesn't even seem to notice. No puss or liquid or even a scab. Its like the hair just fell out there. Hes going in for shots next week so i will have them look at it while hes there. I was thinking it might be from his tail wagg...
