Re: Fear or aggression?

With the tail ducked between the legs, that is fear.

How did your friend approach him? Did he go straight for the pet, or slowly stick out his hand to be sniffed?

Re: Decode the body language and barking...

She's probably just learned barking gets her attention and it seems to be working on you. She might just be bored, take her on a walk, play some flirtpole or fetch or tug and tire her out. If you don't want her barking to get you to do something you need to ignore it. Yeah I think she's bored and w...

Decode the body language and barking...

Molly just came to us on Saturday, and though she's still really timid, she's coming out of her shell. Whenever she is out of her kennel and we are not paying full attention to her...this is all she does...non stop. Is this just her being a brat? I take her outside, assuming she might need to go, an...

Re: BSL Possibly removed in.....=)

Yeah, and its nice that they do still follow certain guidelines. Like at our shelters, you have to be over 21 (and sometimes 25) To rescue a pitt or any other breed typically on BSL. Helps keep dumb and untrustworthy kids from adopting them.

Re: Tie out stakes... ?

Yeah I'd go for the kind that you pound into the ground and not the twist ones. Those twist ones always get yanked out!

Re: Tie out stakes... ?

I have no issue with tie outs as long as they are supervised and not left out for long periods of time. Tie outs are a great resource when you don't have a fence and can't walk multiples at one time!

Good point. I havn't given her a bath yet, even though she seems fairly clean.

Re: Our Vet Visit came up with an issue.

I don't agree with your vet. Bully breeds shouldn't be getting their muscles until about 2 years old and if you bulk her up too early you are just setting her up for all sorts of joint and hip problems!

Re: BSL Possibly removed in.....=)

People might make fun of Indiana for our flat lands, too much snow and being nothing but corn fields....but at least we don't have BSL in almost the entire state. The only city that has it, is at the top west corner near Chicago and its because Chicago has BSL. It's just nice to freely rescue a Pitt...

Re: Red/Rashy looking skin on belly.

Okay so she was begging for a belly rub and I had my camera handy so I managed to get a quick shot. And I'm calling Monday to get her a spay appointment set up, so I guess it depends on how quickly they can set that up as to whether I make a separate appointment or not. Do NOT want this chicka going...

Re: Red/Rashy looking skin on belly.

Puppies can claw up their bellies while nursing. Also, post pregnancy/nursing hormone changes can certainly make them lose a lot of fur. I suppose it could be pup related, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was allergies. I would just monitor her for now, as her body readjusts. Yeah I was wonderi...

Re: Two Weeks! Give em a break! :0 )

I really enjoyed reading this! I've only read the main post and not the comments yet, but so interesting! It makes such perfect sense! Molly just came to us yesterday. She was at someone elses house for two weeks (they found her and saw someone throw her from a car :( ) She is already relaxing a bit...

Re: Red/Rashy looking skin on belly.

And I'd try and get a pic of her belly but she's too shy and timid and I don't want to force her on her back and freak her out.

Here is a pic from last night when she was begging for a belly rub, you can sort of see it.
