Re: Hi I'm Matt! So excited!!

A lady at our cool awesome local pet store didn't even know what they were, then said later they don't carry them since "they're associated with dog fighting and used to pull dogs off one another". I replied "but any responsible Pit Bull owner should have one, just in case of an emer...

Well yesterday, i spent the day taking pictures for my roommate while he was learning Carting with his Leonberger, and i talked to the trainer a bit and she said it would be a good start for weight pulling for my girl. Looking for some opinions on that, and if anyone else here does carting with a pi...

Re: Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

Do you mean the Halti no pull harness or the Halti head collar? For a reminder, Flexi type leashes ( or any leash that reaches a certain length) should not be used with a head collar. There is the potential for neck injury and muscle strains, if the dog can reach a certain speed and charge at full f...

Re: What type of dog food/diet do you feed your dogs?

i use kirkland lamb n rice from costco, and my girl loves it. May not be the best food out there, but i get a lot of compliments on her coat, and her stool is almost always nice and firm. only time it isnt, is if she got into something else lol. She doesn't have any allergies or medical problems tho...

Re: Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

Some of my issues are 1) Unless locked they keep constant tension on the collar/harness. This can teach a dog to pull and make loose leash walking difficult when not using a flexi. 2) The locks break often. My mother has a shih tzu mix, Maggie, she goes through at least 3 flexis a year because the ...

Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

i see a lot of people say how much they hate flexi leads, but i seriously cant understand why. If its a strength thing, my girl went charging full speed after my friends dogs (to play of course) before i got her unleashed and it went right to the end and stopped her in her tracks and the leash was j...
