Re: Best and worst dog foods?

Oh and there is also another gross dog food called Doggy Bag that my Grandparents also feed their dogs. My Grandparents feed their dogs cheap food since they have 15 dogs(My step-Grandma is a hoarder but my Papaw is not). Retriever and Doggy Bag are made by Tractor Supply. Seriously, next time you ...

Re: Item swap?

I love this idea :) 2" single ply leather with 3 rows of studs from Pit Bull Gear. I'll double check the size, but I believe it fits dogs with 19" to 23" neck. It's Jack's old show collar and it average/good condition. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs163.snc1/6092_132447...

My Thoughts on Anti-Tethering Legislation

In light of a recent thread, I am posting a copy of the blog I forwarded to the Hillsborough County Animal Advisory Committee (Of whom are currently discussing the idea of anti-tethering laws). Dog people in this county are fighting an uphill battle against these folks (When, ironically, one of the ...

Re: ivermectin

And giving vaccines suppresses the immune system in some dogs. There's risk in management, the truth be told there are other options out there that are just as effective and with a lower potential to be lethal. Ever wonder why whole populations of wolves aren't wiped out by heart worm? It's all in ...

Re: Raw venison??

so really...I am over reacting deworming my dogs every six months??? I do the same :dunno: And I know folks with multiple outdoor dogs that deworm monthly. Especially since I travel so much with my dogs, to different dog events where hundreds of dogs have been (And where hundreds of dogs have sh*t).

Re: Raw venison??

I don't, unless there's visual evidence of worms in the poop. Since I watch my dogs do the deed, I'll know when there's an infestation. Just like, you don't go get tested for parasites, but if you saw one in the bowl - you'd probably go to the doctor for some sort of insecticide. You probably don't...

Re: Canned Food

A high quality, canned food is great for dogs. I think the reason why it gets a bad rap is because people have been led to believe that kibble helps keep a dog's teeth clean (it doesn't). It really doesn't help with tartar build-up? I feel lost now lol I'd feed canned food more often if it weren't ...

Re: Raw venison??

The only bad thing I can think of is parasites - I don't know what ones though. Deer meat itself isn't bad for the dogs. I like it so much that my mouth sometimes waters when I see a deer - is that bad? lol Mine does too lol I love getting venison scraps for the dogs- I just put it in a deep...
