I agree with chewbacca. Sounds like a very special connection you and Boss had there. Can you keep in touch with the adopters? I know I would! Maybe give them a week or two and call as doing an "official" follow-up to make sure he is settling in okay, etc? Maybe you could even tell them to...

I also do the thrift store thing... stuffies at mine are 25 cents each. They pull off the faces, de-stuff them, and the fun is just about over. I have one dog who will play with the carcass, in fact he will tote the same one around for months if I don't toss it! But the others are mainly interested ...

A GREAT site for info is http://www.deafdogs.org/ . We adopted a deaf Aust. cattle dog 4 years ago, he's been just awesome. At first we were scared we couldn't handle it, it seemed to come with so much responsibility... but it turned out fine! He was about a year old, so we missed the puppy stage, b...

I have always, for some reason, assumed (I know, never good) that seeing eye/ hearing/etc dogs were always spayed/neutered... Of course I've never researched this, it's just something that makes sense to me. Wouldn't it be a wise requirement for an assistance dog to be speutered??? On the other hand...

They live inside of course! Actually they are usually where I am, and I am outside during the day a lot of the time. We have about an acre or so fenced around our house, so when I'm out working they are with me in the yard. We donated our dog houses to a pit bull rescue several years ago because our...

Forget world peace, I'd be contented with one day having ppl realize dogs aren't accessories easily gotten rid of when you lose interest

He chewed off the edges of her ears, that's why they're so rounded. He also bit off chunks on her abdomen and she still has the scars. :wow OH my word... I've read some horrible stuff on here, but I think that's the most bizarre thing I've ever heard of someone doing to their dog. Where do all thes...

If you have any Bag Balm you can rub that into the irritated spot, it should help soothe it some 'til you can give her the oatmeal bath. Watch out though, one of my dogs loves the taste of Bag Balm :) .

Our only dog that came with a name is deaf, so we change it all the time roflmao His foster mom named him Nemo... but he's been known to us as Smoochie, Tubby and currently we call him Puffy... among many other things. He's still officially Nemo at the vet, etc. We told the foster mom about his many...

Mine get eggs pretty regular... whole egg straight from the nest. So they eat them right out there in the yard, no mess for me
