Re: Hello from breeder!

That sure was a lot to read! I have to be honest when my son comes home from his grandmas this sunday I will get him to help me with some of the bigger words. My question is this much tho people. If I don't breed my pit with another pit it won't have babies. If I breed my pitty with my concker it w...

Re: Hello from breeder!

If this isn't a troll, I'm having a hard time believing this individual managed to get on the internet and even put an avatar in their profile. I am very intrigued by this concept of knowing something's personality based on the personality of a parent. Some of the worst people I know are offspring o...

Re: Socializing a Dog in a "yuppy" area.. lol

Sounds like a similar situation to mine. She doesn't communicate well, gets fixated, can be pushy, and always wants to play. Because of that I avoid other dogs on walks unless it is a dog I intend for her to have play time with them. Some meetings were flawless and some not to great. If it is just m...

Re: Hi from Saskatchewan

Welcome Mitch. I'm not sure you'll have a lot of luck finding many breeders on the prairies. I think people are realizing the effects of BSL. There are still a ton of towns across the prairies with BSL, but most of them have become very lax. That said, this forum is very rescue oriented and there ma...

Re: Dog poops way too much

There's a lot of great knowledge here, but 15 times a day is something you should be seeing a vet about rather than asking here.

Re: 11 Month Pup Who Jumps Up and Bites

Mine does the same thing, it is her idea of playing just like rough-housing with other dogs. She's getting much better as time goes on. The biting was never really bad (IMO), but I've been trying to get her to tone down her play with people. Try redirecting him before the behaviour starts with an ac...

Re: Pit proof toy suggestions needed!

The planet dog bones are a soft but tough rubber, so they have give to them. They can be torn apart with some serious effort. Of all the rubber toys Iris has destroyed, I've never has concerns with her swallowing them. Never seen any pieces in her poo at all, and considering the bright colours the t...

Re: Pit proof toy suggestions needed!

If she's a chewer the goughnuts should do the trick. My dog isn't a big time chewer, but she loves destroying everything by pulling it apart. The less likely she is to destroy something, the less interest she has in it. While she loves fetching and playing keep away with the goughnuts stick, and wil...

Re: Goughnuts!

I'm quite eager to see how Iris likes the $150 worth of Goughnuts I ordered her, hopefully she likes chewing them as much as bully sticks. Keeping her entertained isn't easy (or cheap right now). I gave her a Kong "ballistic" toy the other day and it didn't hold up any longer than the $3 t...

Re: Shock Collars..?

I'd suggest a vibrating collar for recall. Start small using it in conjunction with "come" and reward every time while gradually increasing the boundaries. I've been using the system with my deaf dog and it works well. She loves to explore and we have a bit of a set distance boundary as fa...

Re: Puppy questions (with pics)

Her eyes look quite D shaped which is not abnormal and might just make it look like both her eyes are pointed outward a bit. My dogs eyes actually seem to be flat on the insides and bottom a bit.

Happy Dance - Tap Dancing?

I've never seen a dog do what I refer to as a happy dance before so I am a bit curious if it is more of a pitbull trait or if Iris is just a strange cookie. When she gets excited to see me or somebody she knows well she waits by the door doing this pitter patter with her front paws, transfering weig...

Re: Hi!

Welcome. How much does Boo weigh? She looks pretty big next to Cooper.

IMO, Boo has a very boxer looking head.
