Misskiwi67 you need a serious reality check. corn is $4.25 per bushel,l a bushell of corn weighs 56#'s thats $.07 a pound, thats very, very, very cheap filler. Huh... its dirt cheap, but its too expensive to feed pigs, and its having nationwide effects on agriculture. But it couldn't possibly effec...

The Ovcharki (there are or were many different sub-types of Caucasian Ovcharcki) round here, yo, don't like much of anyone, human or dog.

When Redhead first got chicken wings he thought they were toys.

After "killing" these ferocious new "toys" several times, Redhead decided that chicken-flavored toys tasted pretty good, once you got down to it. And come to think of it, he was kinda hungry.

I am no training expert, but I think Sora's dogpark days are at an end.

Your dog doesn't need to have doggie friends. Your dog needs you.

Redhead has enjoyed all of the fruits and veggies I have given him except garlic (small quantities) and oranges.

He will drink orange juice, but it is not his favorite. He loves the "dog cocktail" consisting of veggie juice and raw natural kefir. Much tail-wagging ensues.

Redhead runs to the door in anticipation, but doesn't say a word. Friends joke that he does not know how to bark.

Interesting. I've been trying to teach Redhead to differentiate between "toy", "water", and "bone", with decidedly mixed results.

The stuff appears to be for geriatric, i.e. old dogs. Not sure what that means in regards to a dog that is not old yet.

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Redhead has been getting a lot of cheap turkey lately, so what would be the symptom of a pancreatic attack?

A question about turkey

Does the tryptophan in turkey makes dogs sleepy as it does humans?

I have gotten a line on cheap turkey parts, so Redhead has been getting a lot of turkey lately.

He is fine with that, but I am curious whether there might be any side-effects?

I have never seen the show (it is not on where I live) so I cannot speak to the specifics of what El Cesar is teaching, but I do not get why a lack of credentials disqualifies him from being a good trainer. A lot of dog training, far as I can tell, is communication skills and charisma. Neither can r...

I agree - different dogs require different training styles. Redhead is generally responsive to treats, except with he sees a prey object or another dog. Then he ignores food and mild corrections just whip him into a greater frenzy. The only thing that gets through is a very heavy correction, and eve...

Oh, I don't have a pup (though I want one!) I was just wondering for future reference if it's possible to tell if a pup will have HD when it's quite young. If you are not planning to go the rescue route, HD has a strong genetic component. Therefore, a responsible breeder will screen for HD in both ...
