Re: Mya needs a crate..(sizing)

Thanks guys, sorry for the delay. Do the plastic ones even come with a divider? And I think we're going with wire cause plastic probably wouldn't withstand her chewing. And from experience with Loki (my escape artist) it'll be a Kong Kennel. Unless anyone has any suggestions on a sturdier brand? And...

Mya needs a crate..(sizing)

I've finally come to my wits end with Mya and decided that she needs to be crate trained. ASAP. But, I'm not sure what size to get her. She's only between 12-13 weeks, but she's already larger than Loki was at that age, so I'm not sure how big she's going to be. I know most crates come with a divide...

Re: Fixed dogs' nutritional needs?

I was only curious because I saw it on the website. I've never had an overweight dog, intact or fixed. And I've always free range fed my adult dogs unless there's a puppy around. And when they're not free range, they get fed 2x a day. (Once in the morning and once in the evening). They get lots of e...

Re: "Split Personalities"?

Thank you Leslie. We've began slowly working on this. Hopefully with time it helps and he shows improvement. But I don't entirely understand why he reacts this way outside or even fearful to begin with. Any ideas why?

Re: Fixed dogs' nutritional needs?

That's what I thought, Misskiwi. But I wasn't entirely sure, so that's why I asked. Thanks for all of the advice and the clarification everyone. After the two current bags of food I have for the pooches are gone, we'll be switching to Acana.

Re: Fixed dogs' nutritional needs?

Mya, the puppy is around 10-12 weeks, don't know her exact age, but she's no older than that. And I have Loki, he's 60lbs. So I'm pretty sure we could work with the $65 if its ok for her to eat it too. I just can't afford $130 in dog food, even tho their own bags would probably last even longer. It'...

Re: Fixed dogs' nutritional needs?

Is it an all stages dog food? And how long would you estimate a 30lb bag to last two dogs? I have an adult and a young puppy.. so $130 for two different stages would be waaay too much.. I was looking at the blue buffalo, actually. But as I stated above two stages at $50+ a bag is a bit much. So I wa...

Fixed dogs' nutritional needs?

Was looking thru petsmarts dog food section on their site and saw a food made for spayed/neutered dogs. Do their nutritional needs really change so drastically that they should be on a special diet or is this just a marketing gimmick to sell their product? I've heard people complain about their dogs...

Maybe since you do the sit/treat, you could have your guests do it as well. Enforce what he already knows with you with your guests.

"Split Personalities"?

No, I don't really think my dog has split personalities, just the best way I could think to describe it.. Anyway, Loki seems to be two different dogs inside and outside. Inside he's really reserved and quiet. If someone new meets him inside, he simply walks away and sits in the door way of my room u...

'ello everyone.

'ello everyone.. My name is Amanda, I'm a 22 year old "pit bull" owner. I live in MD. I've always admired bully breeds and all of their wonderful personality traits. I'm currently owned by two. Mya (APBT), a 11 week old blue fawn girl and Loki (APBT/Staffie mix), a soon-to-be 3 year old bl...
