Re: OFFICIAL e-collar debate thread

yes, there was a trainer who suggested i put him down because of his extreme level of dog aggression. that was a while ago (probably over 2 years ago) and i remember actually contemplating it. granted, i'm glad i didn't. but overall, i think it's difficult for some people to really understand the l...

Re: Need harness help for serious puller!

Well that's a pile of BS... Sprenger collars are exactly the same as any other collars, they are just made from stronger materials so they don't break that easily. As an owner of a serious puller I can tell you absolutely NO tool out there will make your dog pull any less on a leash, at least not p...

Re: Need harness help for serious puller!

I have consulted with several trainers and have also worked with several trainers as well. I do recommend using a prong collar for those strong pullers. HOWEVER, there is only 1 brand that is recommended (Sprenger, Made in GERMANY). The use of this particular prong collar will NOT cause any irritati...

Re: Fish Oil

The Vet had given me "Free Form Snip Tips" and it cost $37 for 60 capsules. I had to give her 2 capsules daily. So, it was a month's supply. Which I feel is pretty costly. At that rate I feel like I should just get a much better brand of food that already has Omega 3 fatty acids? However, ...

Re: Killing Our pets with every meal.....

Novy - yes, that is how I came up with that list. This subject matter is new to me. The foods I listed were free of that residue. Enigma - thank you for sharing that link. I will be looking at that. I am trying to figure out some good food choices for my dog that are not too pricey, free of that res...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

I personally feel that it is unnecessary & cruel. I feel that altering their ears or tail does not serve a medical purpose. When I adopted my dog, I had to sign a contract saying that I would never do those things to her. I would never plan to anyway. She looks great just the way she is!

Fish Oil

I'm wondering if anyone can refer me to a fish oil that is good. There seems to be so much out there. I tried a different fish oil and her terrible dry skin came back. The fish oil we used initially was from the vet's office and was pretty expensive, but worked great! Is there a fish oil that is rea...

Brushes

I'm wondering if someone could provide some links to what kind of brushes/combs you use for your pit bull? I've heard of "rakes?" I've heard of the "zoom groom." Any advice on where to get these things and links so I know what I am looking for would be wonderful! :clap :clap :cla...

FURminator

I am very new to this forum and I have a pit bull who has extremely short hair but sheds an aweful lot!!! I have had her less than a month. I was looking into ways to help curb the shedding somehow. I saw the furminator. I know nothing about it (except that it's very expensive). Opinions please!!!! ...
