Re: Your preferred treats

Natural Balance salmon grain-free cat treats! They are tiny, pretty soft, and perfect for training, cheaper than dog treats, and INCREDIBLY stinky for a commercial treat that's not full of junky stuff. Freeze-dried liver pieces are available from a bunch of different companies. Most dogs like that a...

Re: Mast Cell Tumors : Lessons Learned

I remember Horace! Fingers crossed for something totally benign. If it is reassuring at all-- B had two bumps that my vet aspirated & found mast cells, diagnosed them as MCTs. I freaked out & went to a veterinary oncologist. They were benign epithelial cell tumors. Yup. Skin lumps. So anythi...

Re: Tips/Ideas for teaching a new trick?

Hooray for team oafs! lol I like the idea of tickling his feet, just generally. It's going on my list of ways to subtly annoy him (have you guys seen the Jenna Marbles video about this?!) I definitely need two parts- the "flat on side" part, and the legs part. My friend suggested using my ...

Re: neutering with a heart murmur.

Yes, I'd personally wait as well if he were my dog, and see the cardiologist. Especially since he's a male vs female; good point there. I was just saying that all of our neuters that we've done on shelter dogs with murmurs have been OK. Now, not all speuters/anesthesia on all animals has gone in per...

Re: Tips/Ideas for teaching a new trick?

Yeah, I've taught him all kinds of silly things lately, usually with a just a marker to freeshape, but sometimes also starting with the marker plus a lure just at first, if I want something specific and don't believe that particular movement will likely happen otherwise. I was thinking the same thin...

Tips/Ideas for teaching a new trick?

OK, I've been on a silly trick spree lately. So. Last night I asked my boyfriend for a new trick idea.... he wants me to teach Booker how to "swim," aka lie on his side on the floor while his legs paddle. I'm up for the challenge. Ideas? Thinking of starting with B flat and then just marki...

Re: neutering with a heart murmur.

Just for your possible peace of mind, the shelter has speutered stray dogs with heart murmurs of various grades, all of them survived their operations; none were seen by a cardiologist before surgery or had additional diagnostics. Obviously I'd want to get as much information as possible for my dog ...

Hahahahahah, oh Brina!

That's exactly the look. And they both have those big caramel soulful eyes plus the goofy lip; the contrast is so ridiculous.

Re: Help? Broken tooth. *cry*

Thank you both. He's a pretty silly dog already, and now his thick upper lip gets stuck on his lower canine frequently since there's no upper canine. Oh dear. It's definitely extra goofy. Heh. He's doing well, he's pretty pathetic looking when I have to flush the sutures with CET rinse since food ge...

Re: Help? Broken tooth. *cry*

As a follow up- that was a very stressful weekend. The root canal couldn't be performed that day. The pulp kept bleeding. So they would have needed to do it in 2 stages of surgery. Then when they were cleaning his only remaining upper carnassial (it had looked OK previously on X-ray, and they also t...

Re: OMG! Don't let Pat Cook get an Aussie!

Funny story, Pat Cook just took Happy for a trial to see if he works out with her household. Cross your fingers for the little doof ball, maybe we will be seeing him High in Trial next. I saw on FB and was wondering/hoping it was her! Fingers crossed for sure! How awesome is that?! Sent from my MB8...

Re: Help? Broken tooth. *cry*

Well... he's at the vet. We brought him earlier today and he'll have the procedure tomorrow. They're doing x-rays anyway for the canine tooth root canal, and so will look at an old, partial slab fracture of another tooth and compare current x-rays to the x-rays of this tooth with the x-rays I had do...

Thinking of you both. xo

I know how these problem-prone-pets are. We'll have grey hair soon.

Please post updates. I love your girl, she (and you) are PBF OGs so she's gotta be OK.
