Nutri Source = Poop City

I switched Booker from TOTW to Nutri Source a little while ago and everything seems the same for him EXCEPT he is pooping a ton. Huge poops and one or two per day more than usual. I had this same issue when I wanted to save $$ and started feeding Nature's Domain, but I thought the filler ratio of Nu...

Re: At my wits end with this dog!

Same here; 2-3 cups per day for my ~70 lb dog. Maybe knock the amount down a bit and see if that helps or not, or if he loses too much weight.

Re: For the love of God Newton!

:( nooooo.... I am so so sorry. I had hoped he bounced back entirely after the last episode. Oh man. I will miss your stories and pictures of him. Lil' Newty.

Wishing you all the best. And for him, a million tennis balls.

Re: I have a problem with Doc

Oh. No. I'm sorry. Ugh. Does he do OK on a tie down, if a crate or x-pen doesn't work for him? Obviously there's something going on there, though, whether anxiety or sep anxiety (my old roommate's dog would thrash the window blinds, eat the wood on the windows/windowsills, rip curtains down, knock t...

Re: do i need to consult a behaviorist?

Your four month old puppy bit you on the thigh hard severely enough that you needed stitches? Is her body stiff, her eyes bulging, her ears back and up, her tail stiff, wagging fast, or tucked? Does she "boof" bark and alarm bark often? Or was she soft and playful and then get riled up and...

Is Martin doing something like a Bull Terrier trance?

I hope he stops once off this medication!

Re: False pregnancy?

Hmm. I don't know about false pregnancies. What vet or clinic were you planning on getting her spayed at, and what is their price for it? Just asking bc some people on here may be willing to chip in for her surgery. Hope you're healing well. I had a much more minor surgery in early April and am stil...

Re: Good diet for an elderly dog?

It's sometimes tricky to differentiate between a marketing ploy and actual benefit, so I would just look at what the ingredients are, where the calories are coming from (white starchy potatoes? soy grits? muscle and bone meal? etc) in the food and then to also adjust her caloric intake as needed and...

Re: Good diet for an elderly dog?

Most "senior" food just are lower protein/fat/calories, and have slight amounts (ie, not enough to be theraputic) levels of glucosamine added. I think if you found a regular food for her that she liked and did well on with decent protein/fat/calories, and then supplemented with Glyco-Flex ...
