Good Lord, anything else at this time?

Just tell us where to send money to the Zoey fund ;) I don't have much, but I can at least chip in something. You've been thru hell this year, so if we can all pitch in to help her and you, even if only for a little while, I say it's worth it.

Good Lord, anything else at this time?

Jesus, Val :( I don't even know what to say to that. I'm so sorry that this year has been as it has for you and your dogs. So very very unfair.

Re: OFA results

Boo! Elbows are a bitch, but grade 1 isn't awful. I've got a friend who's dog has grade 3 in both front legs, he's been to a ton of specialists in the area (granted, the "area" is Seattle and north). I can always ask her who she went to if you're interested.

The training method I would suggest is teaching the humans in the household to stop leaving the door open ;) While a well-trained recall can and will save a dog's life, there's no reason the dog should be consistantly placed in that situation.

Re: Hello from john and axel from texas!

Out of curiosity, how's his hearing? Does he respond well to sounds in his environment? Pit bulls who are solid white such as yours (and mine in my avatar) are more times than not bilaterally or unilaterally congenitally deaf.

Re: Nature's Variety (or TOTW)

If it hasn't been mentioned already, the Whole Dog Journal puts out a yearly report on dog foods that's very helpful in explaining the details of ingredients and nutritional information. For what it's worth, my guy is on TOTW Pacific Stream and I quite like it.

Favorite Names that are NOT over used!

In sticking with the western theme (Pinkerton), my next dogs, though quite a way down the line, I'm thinking will be named Rio and Rodeo.

Re: old but new

Dare I ask what constitutes "personal reasons" to dump two dogs with someone you barely know?

Hi! New here!

Just curious- how is Rossi's hearing? Absolutely fine as far as I can tell! Are you asking because of her white color? My neighbor told me he heard that they are often blind or deaf and do not seem to live as long when they are white. I have heard similar things, but when the animal has light eyes....
