Re: Need an experienced dock diving opinion.

The technique that you are using is called "Place and send". You can also try the chase technique, where you set him up, then walk to the edge of the water, and tell him to "go". Once he nears, toss that toy. This will encourage him to reach after the toy, and make him jump highe...

Re: Need an experienced dock diving opinion.

Celesteandthebullies, OF COURSE he would be good at dock diving :) He already is! He doesn't hesitate at the edge, holds the sit-stay beautifully - that's two major things that need to happen on the dock. The rest (ie the distance) comes with practice and your ability to throw just right ;) Plus he ...

Re: Dock Diving 101

What is adequate space that a dock diving dog would need to train for dock diving?? I am asking because I would liek to get my newest addition into some type of water sport. I have read the essentials and so far my little guy has a great start. So far he shows signs of loving the water. (My first b...

Re: To Muzzle Or Not to Muzzle

Teddy, The muzzle I used was this one: http://www.kristalas.com/muzzles/pit-bull-muzzle.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is beautifully made, gorgeous color, and doesn't have that "threatening" look. Honestly, I think that is a horrible muzzle for this situation. Sure...

Re: Cesar Millan vs. Cujo

Wow...because if I was scared of something-all I want is for someone to strangle me over and over again and force me on my back! That would make me feel WONDERFUL! I may even get so scared about showing I'm scared that I stop appearing scared at all-cured! Lay on the side, not force on the back. La...

Re: To Muzzle Or Not to Muzzle

Teddy, there is nothing wrong in using muzzle as part of the training routine. For some reason in America people attach such stigma to muzzles... My dog was less than stable. I couldn't trust her, and I really didn't trust myself either. So, when she went through her training/behavior modification p...

Re: Hey, from Chicago

Welcome :)
That looks like all pit bull there - gorgeous dog with shiny coat.

Shelters often make all kind of mixed breeds out of pit bulls in order to adopt them out.

Re: Hello from Arkansas!

Welcome jrowephoto! I am sure, since you are a photographer, you have ton of photos of your gorgeous dogs. Post please :)) At the dock jumping tournaments I see some very ripped labs, and it is always such a pleasure to my eyes, compared with out of shape labs in my neighborhood. I also enjoy watchi...

Re: It's Lymphoma Large Cell Type.

This year just doesn't get easier, does it :( Rest in peace Ella. Nothing hurts now, and you can run up and down those stairs in the sky, chasing orbees, all you want. I know you will watch over your momma and dad.

BringBackup, your dog does not need to be registered with any of the clubs in order to compete and get titles. :) It doesn't even have to be a purebred.

Re: Auburn, CA: Pit Bull Ordinance/2-dog limit

2 animals minimum is crazy, and needs to be fought. I would also fight to change the language of the ordinance to make sure it doesn't affect responsible breeders. But aside of that, I have no problem with S/N mandatory law. I don't even care if it is not for all breeds, but just for pit bulls. Beca...
