Piney's old vet in Brooklyn told us that having some wax in the ear is actually good, because it catches incoming dirt -- that it's not good to have the ear TOO clean all the time. Any truth to that? What a cute face! You can tell he's trying to get away with something by showing you those puppy dog eyes.

Welcome!

Do you just literally pour the stuff in there, or do you soak a cotton ball then squeeze that into the ear? The second way seems gentler, but I'm not sure I'm getting enough solution in there.

My dog has yeasty ears, so this thread interests me. After you put all that cleaning solution in their ears and slosh it around, you just leave it in there? You don't try to soak it up with a cotton ball or anything?

The trainer has a bit of a cult-of-personality thing going on. She doesn't like it when I take any advice that's not hers. Also she is 100 percent against Western veterinary medicine.

The woman who has been giving me nutritional advice (one of Piney's trainers) yelled at me today for getting him tested and for putting him on meds. Whatever. I'm sick of be...

Have you tried a medicated (antifungal) shampoo? Yeast is super-itchy.
