Bully Sticks are 100% Bull penises I know that is true, but it still cracks me up to read it. Imma bad Aunt. My 16 yr old neice is coming out to visit us in a week and a half, and we have carefully not said anything about bully sticks around her. We are waiting until she gets out here, and has one ...

Shelby just got her last vaccination last week, so I think that's not a worry. Hubby took them to the vet this morning, and they had a checkup both have eye infections and are a little malnourished, but otherwise checked out okay. I didn't think to tell him to ask about vaccinations, and he didn't s...

Thanks for the reply.

I got kinda busy last night juggling Shelby with our two new additions.

I'm now trying desperately to stay awake and not fall asleep on my desk.

GAH! I hate stories like that. Ya know what we did? We realized we couldn't sell our house in VA with the animals there... so we moved in with my parents... animals included. Then we spent a chunk of our house sale money to buy a vehicle that would hold all the animals, crates for them, ramps, food,...

Maybe its just the Shelby in her.

Our Shelby loves tug-a-rope, and sometimes we can pick her up and turn in circles making her fly! Though that makes Mommy and Daddy VERY dizzy so it doesn't happen real often!

Rescued two puppies

You can see the story here: http://www.pitbullforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=38785 To sum up, a kid was going door to door with two puppies in a huggies box asking if anyone wanted to buy them. My husband called me and we decided we'd get them, not to keep, but to save. We paid the outrageous sum of $20 ...

Two questions... 1) How do you know that she doesn't know the name? When we say only her name she doesn't acknowledge us. Regardless of what she's doing or not doing at the time. And 2) How have you tried to teach her the name? Well, um, no. Never needed to before. How do you go about doing this? T...

Knowing their name

We've had Shelby for about 2 months now, and she still doesn't respond to her name. She's about 6 mos old now.

Is this usual? Does it take longer for older puppies?

Should we give it up and find another name for her? :D

People don't always want to be educated and they resent your efforts to try. I'm surprised people who've spent any length of time on this board haven't noticed that already--go to any breeding thread and see what happens when people try to educate! :)) That is quite true. I'm just remembering the d...

I just had another thought. Those that know rescues know that if they want to adopt an animal, they not only do they need to *be* responisible pet owners, they have to *show* they are responsible pet owners. Maybe some of the conflict is coming because the average Joe and Jane off the street don't r...

I really don't mind the rescue standards, as I know they are trying to find the best situation for the dog. Whats started to bug me is adoption fees. I know I'm going to want a smaller lap-type dog eventually, and with owning a ptibull and 2 cats, I've got to select the dog very very carefully. This...

Ya know, I think if the rescue that denied the application for Jasmine had explained *why* they wanted the forever home to have someone who stayed home during the day, I don't think it would be an issue. But for them to just say what they did, without an explanation, gives the impression that it is ...

When our puppy was recovering from parvo, I asked about the continued diarreha, and the vet said it was from the recovering stomach lining, just like MissK said. What our vet suggested was mixing a tablespoon of metamucil (or similar dissolvable fiber) in with every meal to help firm up the stools. ...

The bill was discussed before in this thread: http://www.pitbullforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=465339 To sum up, from what I saw, the privacy part was *not* in italics, which means (if I was reading it right, and I know I may be wrong) that the language is *already* law, and striking down the bill would ...
