Our puppy was in the animal hospital for parvo at the week anniversary of her spay, and they gave her a bath.

If she's really stinky and smelly, I'd prolly do it, but be real, real gentle.

If she's not that dirty, I'd wait at least a few more days.

Re: WHAT is this on Jake's lip??

If this was a person, I'd call it a canker(sp?) sore.

Not sure about dogs though.

She's home! And already getting into everything! So she's back to being a normal puppy! I have to say again, that we really lucked out in finding that vet clinic. The total for 4 days hospitalization, all the meds, etc was $350. And she's looking so much better, its almost unbelievable. We are so gl...

I have a question. Since we only had her for 4 days before putting her in the hospital, is it more stressful for us to visit, and keep leaving her? Or will it help her? The only reason I have the question is because she was only here for 4 days. If she had been here for 4 years, it'd be different, c...

I've called both animal control, where she was sheltered, and the Humane Society to let them know. The Humane Society acted like it was no big deal. In fact the lady told me, "I'm glad you called, if the treatment doesn't work, you are eligible for another animal free of charge!". *bangs h...

She ate about a half a cup of dry mixed with a big forkfull of wet this morning.

So it seems she's on the mend.

Yah, just trying to see if we should puree the meat or something. We did chop the meat pretty fine, but no go. Should we try some canned food?

We were also wondering if its serious enough to go to the animal hospital tonight.

I think she's lethargic. We did do alot of walking this morning, cause she just wouldn't piddle outside. But its been several hours of sleeping (at least 3), and we can't seem to get her to get up and do anything. Hubby picked her up off the couch, and took her into the kitchen, and as soon as he pu...

Puppy not eating

Our new baby isn't eating. She had maybe a quarter of cup of food this morning, and nothing since. We've now tried kibble soaked in chicken broth, plain white rice, some chopped beef, and some cooked chicken breast. She's underweight already, and she's been sleeping most of the day. She played well ...

Well, the eye stuff keeps coming back. How long should I wait before worrying that its more than just a minor irritation? It is clear, not green or yellow, so I don't think her eyes are infected. She has had some water, but no food yet. My goodness, it was hard to get her to sleep! I noticed she see...

Shelby's here!

This is Skybyrd from El Paso, hubby posted earlier about our 4 mos. old puppy we were getting from Animal Control. Thanks to running late (darn banks!), we didn't get to the store to get a digital camera, hopefully tomorrow. She's here, she chocolate brown with a white muzzle and white underside, wi...

Starting to do the final puppy proofing. I decided that as silly as it looks, I'm crawling through each room to make sure I don't miss anything. I've already found a few things that I couldn't see standing up, so I will be continuing. I've done the living room, kitchen and one of the bathrooms. Are ...

I really like the animal control/humane society out here. The adoption fee includes spaying, shots, and microchipping. And they do that all before you pick up the dog. Which I like, because it not only helps the animals, it also helps the people, because there isn't instant gratification. People hav...
