tender ears- like ear infections? mac gets those... all the time. not panicking. Nope, his ears were never infected... they were just tender... Ear infections are completely seperate from autoimmune disease as far as I know. If your vet thought autoimmune was a concern, I'm sure he would hav...

We run our pups out in a cornfield every day after class, and we just let them run their little hearts out for an hour and a half. It think its a 2-3 mile walk for the people, but they probably run twice that easily. My pup would get tired when he was 5-6 months, but lately he's really gotta run har...

Good question... I go out to play with my neighbors dog 3-5 days a week depending on class, and both of us have wondered if it would just be easier to get a second dog instead of depending on the other person to meet at the field. Neither of our dogs gets a good workout (even with an hour walk) with...

How did you teach that??? Because my pup looks at everything BUT me during a heel. The only time he'll look at me is when I call his name or hold a treat for him...

Starting the pup on Merrick...

So apparently flaming does work to educate ... ok, maybe it wasn't that bad, but I definately got my hiny wooped into shape... :)) :)) I'll be starting on Merrick (grandma's pot pie) tomorrow morning. Romeos coat is acceptable, but there's a bit of dandruff I'm hoping will go away, and his paws have...

I think basic plus looks good... I like the idea of doing yearly bloodwork and dentals, so if you can afford the basic plus, definately get that one. I would only do the optimum if I had a cat with a urinary tract history, or a dog over the age of 7. I don't even get to the dentist every year... spo...

Its good that you can recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and good for you for finding a career that allows you to maximize what you want to do with your life... If you're going the nutrition route, I hope you like chemistry!!! That was going to be my backup plan too... until I found out what I...

If it heals, then its not autoimmune... if it doesn't, then you'll have to have more tests, like a biopsy done... We had an American Eskimo who was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when he was a year old, and he lived another 5 years before it got bad enough that we had to do anything. He just h...

The last place we ordered from had a 25 stick minimum, so we split it between two people. After shipping, it was about 1.70 per stick... and they don't smell too bad or stain the carpet. If nobody knows of a better place, we'll probably order from them again.

It could just be an infection, but the top of the nose is a common place for autoimmune diseases to show up...

Try not to worry until you find out what it is... it'll just stress you and your pup when there's nothing you can do until Tuesday. Fingers crossed that its no big deal!!

Ok, that makes sense, and I can definately do all of the above.

We've already got the "visit mom in the field and get a treat" trick down pat... so I just need to build on that everywhere, not just when I'm trying to reinforce recall and checking in on his own...

ISU doesn't require terminal surgery. You can sign up for an alternative rotation as well. You participate in all the non-terminal surgeries, and have non-terminal alternatives on terminal days. If you want to get more practice, there is an alternative elective where you volunteer to do spay/neuter ...

The idea to treat every time your dog approaches you sounds really great (I'm supposed to teach "watch me" for puppy class) but I don't want my dog to expect attention every time he approaches me. If I'm eating dinner on the couch, he's not allowed to approach, and if I'm studying, I dont ...

Sounds more like she was trying to get your attention... more like a "mom, stop staring at me, lets play"

But I wasn't there, so I don't know. Can I ask why you were staring down your pup???
