I don't think you are going to find any PB. Maybe you should just off that freezer of meat on Carnie Feed Supplier. Something interesteing to think about when trying to "find a study" is that someone has to fund that study. Currently, there isn't much (any?) financial backing to do a study...

Pup might be feeling itchy so licks which makes the itchy worse and then licks and soon it can become a habit

Get out! We have tried everything, including that Booda Dome and a bloody home-made gate and this dog figured out how to break into the room and continues to eat the poop. UGH! You can try Yin Chiao - I use it for kennel cough in dogs and the flu in me.

Otherwise, rest, fluids, keeping everyone warm, humidifiers?
