Re: Switching from BARF to Dry diet - suggestions on food

For many raw fed dogs, it's not the protein but the high level of dry, processed protein.

When I've needed to have kibble on hand, I like Fromm, Go! and Arcana. When money's been tight Taste of the Wild is a good price.

Re: Dock Dogs Questions

i would like to do an indoor event though :) Indoor in LV at the beginning of the month and the water was still cold! Really, if the venue is 65-70 degrees, it will take a long time to bring that much water up to "room temp" Adrianne's been suing her suits to exercise the dogs in her own ...

Re: The Cost of Feeding Raw?

Thank you everyone for your replies! Now to look into a freezer. Before you buy a freezer, I'd really suggest doing some research on pricing in your area. It can really, really depend on that if you can afford it. Since you are young, live with your grandma, etc - it could become a financial burden...

Re: The Cost of Feeding Raw?

Average costs depends on how much meat costs in your area! My suggestion is to research grocery stores in the area, any co-ops, ask around, etc and she what prices per pound generally are. Then multiple your dogs' weight by .02 for their daily amount. Get the total amount for ALL dogs that you need ...

Re: An agility share & a question

Mine are all just super wound and excited and well, it spills over. I crate away from the action as much as possible and provide a visual barrier like facing the crates towards a wall with just a walk way or making a "wall" out of an x-pen and dark sheets. Or I just cover everyone's crates...

I could be wrong but it should NOT smell. She could have an infection in there.

You need to go to the vet ASAP.

Re: Travel and raw...

We usually also keep the dog cooler in the bathtub! So that way we can close the door against poking noses. And it does take a few back and forth trips with the ice bucket but we try to use the motel's ice if at all possible! We've been traveling with raw for over 6 years at this point and I've neve...

Re: Travel and raw...

I wrote a blog post a while back about a short trip we made and how I pack food for it: http://blog.carnivorecafe.net/post/2011/11/07/Field-Trip%3A-Madera-Flyball" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; What I do depends on our resources. I always call ahead and ask if there is a fridge. If t...

Definitely record it!

Also, if you think it's happening during fetch - it your vet has the space then go play fetch her with at the vets and try to get it to happen.

Re: Questions about agility and training

Clean Run magazine is totally worth the money too. Lots of info, exercises, obstacle training, equipment and tips. hmm never heard of that. will look for it next time im at the store, thanks :) Since there isn't much of a market for the grocery store to stock Agility magazines - it's only available...

Re: Dock Dogs Questions

yeah, we really couldn't find a wetsuit that fit a pit bull body well enough to actually do its job. I happen to be married to a fabrication McGyver so she made him one. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7210/6878253415_1f2751be02_m.jpg Levi at Dock Dogs ISE Las Vegas by silly_wicket , on Flickr and mor...

Re: Dock Dogs Questions

I was wondering about this as well as the agility, so i might as well ask people who know. Whats it take to get into dock diving and also how does your pit bull deal with the cold water? Mine shivers just from a bath outside with cold water in the hot summer heat, so i can only imagine cold water i...

Glad you took him in for a panel. Hoping that he's just being nutnut button again and it's not something medical.
