Hey, guess I should check in here more often! Shrek is a FANTASTIC boy, and so cute it's ridiculous. He's like a slightly smaller version of our Jakey-boy, who found a home recently. Shrek actually IS in foster - those two other dogs in the pic are his foster sisters. The Lab is Sunny, a very well-m...

A dog we adopted out, Rocky, had similar symptoms. His blood droplets most often followed a bowel movement, but weren't IN the poop - it would drip afterwards. He didn't seem uncomfortable, and it was always just a few drops, here and there. He also, when he pooped, had a tiny, pencil-eraser-sized b...

HugABull Forum!

Just putting it out there that HugABull now has a forum . It's meant for our volunteers and adopters to be able to organize their communication better (versus cluttering up everyone's email), but is also a spot for potential adopters, or those interested in the breed to browse and ask questions. The...

Oh, I'm glad she made it into rescue! I met that cutie when over on the Island recently.

How are her feet? They were quite irritated when I saw her, poor girl, although she was a total doll about having them handled. She'll do anything if you'll just throw the Kong!!! :))

Wow, look at those cow spots! How old is that sweeties? :inlove: She's three, apparently. I like the little bit of blue in her eye. Its very interesting. Yeah, me too. A couple that went and saw her in the shelter actually told us there was something wrong with her eye, and we were relieved to disc...

Purdy (as in Purdy's chocolates)

Check out this cutie patootie!!! This is "Purdy", who just entered our foster program. She's not up for adoption yet, she's still in her hold/evaluation period, but I wanted to share a few pics, since she's so darned cute, or, as Rumpley puts it, "Piggalicious" lol. Purdy came fr...

Just jumping in on this thread to say I can attest that Bronte is a total sweet heart!!! He gives the best snuggles and kisses :) Baileybones has been constantly changing up his pics and write up - about every two weeks. Despite this, we've had poor Bronte for 5 months, and he sat in the shelter for...

I believe Ocean, who "christie" from this board adopted from HugABull, had this. Rumpley would know for sure, as she fostered Ocean, and handled her dermatologist appointments.

Gage and Sugar have both had hystiocytomas. Gage's I had removed, as it was in a spot where he could reach it, and he bothered it a lot, so it wasn't healing. Sugar's was on her face, and I just left it be. It went away on it's own in a couple of weeks. Fine needle biopsies are not particularly effe...

Whew! We've kept up with the running/riding, and Gage is doing fantastic. He positively LOVES his runs, and looks forward to them every day. Until today, I hadn't managed to tire him out. Up until yesterday, our longest run had been about 5 1/2 kilometers (around 3 miles). He wasn't even winded, and...

did this come up suddenly? Is she lethargic? I don't think Cherry eye develops overnight, and it shouldn't make them "not feel well". However, hayfever/allergies, and various other illnesses WILL cause the eyes to look like that, and the dog to be lethargic.

Hope your pooch is okay!

How long to run?

I've started biking with Sugar and Gage (one at a time - not together! lol), but am not sure what a resonable time/distance is, and how quickly to build on that. I've been really careful not to overdo it: with Gage, I've been taking him for about a 2 1/2 kilometer (around a mile) run/ride every othe...

Also, scrapes don't always show demodex. Special K's Loki, we scraped repeatedly, as we were so SURE he had demo. Scrapes all came back negative. She adopted him, a few weeks later, her vet scraped him, came back positive for demodex - it had just taken that long to show up in high enough numbers to...
