Putting the dog down is not the solution. Working with the dog, training and socializing, will always help. It sounds like the dog has a limit, which all dogs have but thats not reason to put it down. The nicest of dogs can snap at someone if the conditions are right. The important thing to remember i...

Hartz should be taken off the market. My friends cat had it happen and the vet said during the summer he sees about 10 cats a month with bad reactions and a few dogs also. My friend used flea and tick drops on the shoulder blade. As soon as i saw that the cat was shaking, i instantly gave it a bath. ...

A preventative is the best way to go. Heartworms are horrible for dogs so prevention is the key. During the warmer months i give every four to six weeks. I usually give them one every 8 weeks during the winter. I have read tests that demonstrated heartgard as being effective when only given every 3 ...

One thing that I do during the hot months is to give my dog more meat and also canned foods since they have more water. It kind of forces the dog to consume more water.

I have used frontline with good results. I stay away from anything Hartz, since I have seen so many dogs and cats have reactions to it that required vet care. I was around beagles growing up since my dad was a hunter. We always had one until I was around 23. My dad would use a product called seven d...

I tried to go bike riding with my dog today but he kept attacking the bike. The last thing on his mind was going on a walk. I should have tried it when he was a puppy.

The ab that I have now was really rough on me when he was a puppy. Actually the first year took alot of work. He bit so hard one time I thought my finger was going to fall off. He began to mellow out as he grew up and I also trained him to realize that we could still play rough but the biting hard h...

One of the foods that I use is canidae. I also add fish oil at least 3 times a week. My dogs do well with canidae except for the fact that it seems to give them dandruff. The fish oil helps with the coat and they also seem to shed less.

Its similar to people. You need to start off slow and gradually build them up. One thing to remember is to keep water with you. Bull breeds will really push themselves to keep going so make sure they dont overheat especially during the summer. If your dog does get hot its much better to put cool wat...

I use nutro high energy sometimes and have had good results with it. Actually its the only nutro formula that I will buy.Although its not a good food for a house dog as they will get fat really quick. You also want to rotate to a lower protein and fat food once in a while just to give them a rest.Nut...

My dog sneeked a few onion rings from burger king when my back was turned and he was fine. It gave him horrible gas but other than that he was fine. I called the vet and asked him about it and he said as long as it wasnt a large amount they should be fine.

My dogs diet

I see that some people like using kibble, some like using raw meat, while others like using some of both. I choose to use some of both and here are some of the reasons why. I like to add raw meat to the dogs diet since I know at least it is a good meat source. True I have no idea what steroids, chem...
