Most dogs do fairly well on nutro.I think its one of the best mid level foods. They have one of the better large breed foods. Also the high energy is used with good results. The ultra looks like an improvement in the ingredients so it should be pretty good.

I only feed it after a hard workout or on a day that the dog exercised alot. If your dog has to take it easy for a while i would wait on using it. It would add a few pounds while the dog was inactive. My dog wants to play and play and play when he is on it so i just use it when needed.

I sometimes use the high energy formula. It has a few ingredients that i would rather not see in a dog food but the results were very good overall. Nice coat, lean body, and good energy levels plus it has chondroitin and glucosamine. I would also add some home cooked things to the dogs diet as well as...

To me it seems more logical that a raised food bowl would allow more air to enter at a faster rate which could increase the risk.

One of the dogs(8 years old) went to the vet and boarding kennel. The dog that is sick is 2 years old but hasnt been in contact with any other dogs. They both get their shots once a year but i have heard that the bordetella shots are recommended every 6 months if the dogs are frequently around other...

is this kennel cough?

A friends dog is coughing and kind of throwing up small amounts of foam. Could the other dog in the household pick it up and pass it without getting sick?

Even foods like canidae, wellnes, innova, timberwolf, etc all have limitations when compared to raw. A good natural diet blows em all away.

If you put it in something like a hotdog you should give them a piece of hotdog first that doesnt contain the pill. They will sniff if and then eat the hotdog. Then give them one with the pill. They may not sniff as much since they already know what you are giving them, which may allow them to eat i...

If dogs get good levels of water in their diets, they can more than handle high protein amounts. Water is probably the kidneys best friend. I had a friend growing up that had kidney problems but as long as he drank enough water you could barely tell he had any problems at all. The major differences ...

I've seen dogs do well with purina but it was when alot of raw and home cooked were added to the diet. If you are planning on using just kibble i would get something like natures variety, canidae, timberwolf or maybe even wellness or innova.
