Re: Need help with my boyfriends dog...

Hi!! :) I was just thinking about Ashes yesterday - so glad to hear she's doing good. What about being teathered in a room/space and you work on training with Ashes in the same room, out of reach. It might help as a beginning step to teach Tessa to control herself. While she's quiet and calm, that b...

Re: Sudden Aggressiveness towards the other.

Sleeping arrangements here are that one dog sleeps with me and the other is outside of the room. The next night is the other ones turn. If you've never had a problem with your male breaking out of the crate and it is a strong, secure crate, it should be ok to have her loose in the room. Although, I'...

Re: Sudden Aggressiveness towards the other.

I have dealt with this situation. It turns out that my female doesn't like other dogs in her face/personal space. Like you, it started out as a couple of scuffles over food on the floor. My dogs are five months apart in age and have been together since the older one was 7 months old. They didn't sta...

Re: My training plan for my new puppy

Ah I see :) How old is this pup when you bring her home? A small pup is not old enough to go for walks and usually they are scared to do so. Naturally, they wouldn't be venturing too far from the den until a bit later. I can't remember the age appropriate for venturing out on walks. My dogs are 7.5y...

Re: My training plan for my new puppy

Until Theo allows her up there? If its your bed, Theo does not get to make that decision. Letting any of your dogs be possessive of things/spaces is a very bad idea. If he's acting that way, it's time to take away the bed privileges. No guarding of any objects should be allowed. If your little pup g...

Re: More frequent BM on grain free?

My dogs eat a little raw and 1meal(1 cup) of grain free dog food a day. They poop maybe 3-4x a day, but its a small amount each time. I think the morning poop is the biggest. If that helps lol

I don't think it's a good idea while they're still healing, but afterwards it should be fine.

Re: ACL repair. To knife or not.

Just got back from the 6 week post op appointment. They took x rays. The vet said everything is healing beautifully. I'll have her started on the carpet mill in two weeks. She's such a tough little bitch. Right now, she's passed out on my bed. They knocked her out and brought her back in about 10 mi...

Re: Alpha Playing

You aren't playing with a wolf cub, you're playing with a domestic pup. Different animal, different rules. :)
There's a lot of speculation and discovery that the original dominance theory is inaccurate.

You can roll around on the floor with your puppy. :)

Did she have the same problem while on the Science Diet?

How much does she eat and how often?

How long have you had this dog?

Re: Rabbit?

If you want fatty meat, grocery store beef and pork work well. Anything that's on sale works. Too much fat isn't good, though. Excessively fatty meat can be trimmed, unless you enjoy liquid poo clean up. lol

Re: Rabbit?

I've been known to feed whole rabbits, rats and guinea pigs to my dogs. All parts of the animal are good for your dog. :)

Thanks - it's been awhile since I had one of my dogs sliced open. It's hard to remember the little things. lol
