Re: Bean has Pancreatitis

Get well soon(NOW!) Bean! :pray

So, what types of things cause Pancreatitis?
I've only heard of excessive fat consumption. You're saying that cancer can cause it too?

Re: Another dog death blamed on dog treats...

We could get off our lazy bums and make our own dog treats. That's always an option. lol
Anyone with an oven can do it. It'll end up costing less, too.

I swear that I'm going to make my own dog treats, I have an empty cookie jar waiting - I just need to fill it. Yeah, eventually. lol

Re: What are good bones?

Does anyone know if the pancreas problems come from cooked fat, opposed to raw fat. They do act differently in the body.

Re: What are good bones?

I don't give weight bearing bones like femurs - but I do give knuckle bones, which have some marrow and are soft enough to eat most of. I also give beef ribs(one at a time) Always raw, of course.

Re: What type of dog food/diet do you feed your dogs?

Whole prey model guinea pig and canned food(grain free) on alternating days.
I may switch to prey and kibble(g.f.) to mix it up a bit - but I don't remember what the best kibble brands are. I haven't fed it in so long. lol

Turmeric is a great ani-inflammitory supplement.

Re: HELP- TUMORS... NEED ADVICE

Giving 1tsp of Turmeric powder with food every day will melt the fatty tumors. It takes a little while, but you will notice them going through a pattern of getting soft, then shrinking a bit(repeat) until they disappear. Only 1 teaspoon, giving more will not speed things up and may result in an upse...

Re: healthy skin shiny coat question

I've got a blue/brown dog with a very short coat and she's always shined like and oiled up seal. lol
She and my Boxer(fawn) have always had the same diet, but his coat is a bit longer and less shine.

Fish and fish oils help, but I think it may also be genetics/coat type.

Re: Sick puppy with explosive diarrhea!

When you switch foods, do you switch over in one meal - or do you gradually switch by mixing the food for a couple of weeks or so?

Re: 41lb femal pit mix feeding amount

My female used to act like that with kibble. She would slow down if I put water in the kibble and wouldn't act ravenous after she finished. She also doesn't act that way now that I feed her raw meat or canned food. I think it's pretty unnatural for them to be eating completely dry food. Their natura...

Re: My Puppy has Parvo...

I'm so sorry about your loss. :( R.I.P. Karma Parvo is horrible. It's easily spread and stays in the ground for many years. There are quite a few different strains of Parvo. They range from quite mild(good chance of survival) to very strong(hits hard and quick - kills fast). There's actually a strai...

Re: Is Cash Underweight?

Exercise is the route to take, rather than calorie cutting. He looks like he has a winter layer on, to me - because all of his muscles are quite soft and rounded looking, instead of mostly cut and angular. Which means he's got a bit of a layer over the muscles. It's better to buy a fabric coat than ...

Oh, I meant that if he's barking when you leave the house and barks while you're gone, I'm not sure how you'll solve the problem. :)

Re: Boss is hoarse...

It's most likely from barking. It'll be hard to change/manage if you aren't there to witness it.
