Re: Zero Tolerance for Even One Bark?

I have heard other people say they don't tolerate any barking, and I think it's insane. Dogs bark. It's one of the ways they communicate. It seems absurd to me to restrict barking completely. Though there are certainly days I wish my dogs would shut up ...

Re: Break Sticks & Usage

Addin: realized that my first reply is not clear. I think O'briens would be easier to use. PBRC sticks are good and im glad to have them, but the O'briens look lighter and less bulky/easier to handle. Sorry for lack of clarity.

Re: Break Sticks & Usage

I have the PBRC sticks, but they are very big and bulky. I've seen the O'briens ones at dog shows, and they look like they'd be much more unwieldy to use. And i think the vids Val posted in training are good and very all-audiences-safe! That's my only .02 on the topic!

Re: Needing some peace for my puppies!

Please do post more info so we can approve you. Having to keep dogs separate sucks. I have to do it in my own house, but sometimes it is for the best. With dedications and work, you can provide a good quality of life for you and for both dogs, and you can probably get some good tips on that on this ...

Re: Dog interaction

You may be expecting a bit much of him to expect him to get along with other dogs after initial meet and greets. You might do better trying to get him to walk side by side with other dogs at some distance to help him to get over that initial excitement/frustration.

Re: Moving to Central New York, advice on rescues?

I don't personally have any knowledge of rescues out that way, but one of our members (lilangel) lives out that way, I think. He doesn't post anymore, but maybe somebody who keeps in touch with him would help get you some info? You could also try contacting Out of the Pits in Albany, NY. They really...

Re: Hip dysplasia

Yeah, there really isn't a ton you want to do without knowing for sure what is causing the issue. If it's early-onset arthritis, you might end up with pain meds of some sort for pain management, and you can always supplement your pup with high-quality fish oil and/or good joint supplements with gluc...

Hi Cory,

Can you tell us a bit more about yourself so we can grant you access? What made you choose a pit bull? Any plans for your pup's future? Is this your first dog?
