Tomatos?

Are tomatos really bad for dogs? My daughter just gave Monty a tomato, not a whole huge one, just one of those 'grape tomatos' So it wasn't a lot, just curious

Need help

I'm trying to find out how to see if BSL is in the area I'm looking to move to. (Not sure 100% but have it narrowed down to a couple really close towns on Long Island in NY). I've read that BSL is illegal in NY, read that NYCHA has set up a new ban for dogs in NY, but not sure how to go about findin...

Re: Escape artist

Thanks for the reply. The collar that was on him is one I'd gotten from Collarmania a while back. It's one of the ones that doesn't buckle, it just adjusts and slips over the head. It is about 1.5-2" thick, and it barely slid over his head to get it on! It fit fine around his neck (two finger r...

Escape artist

I need some ideas on what kind of things I can do/try to keep my dog contained! He seems to be quite the escape artist. When I first got him, I had chained him out back to go potty real quick while I was taking care of the kiddies (He was only chained b/c I hadn't had a chance to check over the fenc...

Toby in NY

I've been glancing through some ads and have seen a ton of ads for this boy. Someone is really trying to get him pulled from a shelter, he is due to be put down anyday. (I live in MI or would take him...we're moving to NY in a few months). Is there any rescue groups out there that may be able to pul...

Re: Sadie Update

Great news!!!! Sadie surgery today went great! The Dr. saved her for last and really took his time with her. They said he was SUPER careful taking out the uterus as to make sure that none of the infection would get out. The infection was also almost completely gone! So luckily it hadn't spread and s...

Re: Sadie Update

the vet wanted to wait until she was done with this dose of anitbiotics to see if they would clear up the infection. She goes in tomorrow at 7am. So hopefully we hear good news. Haven't seen any leaking, so hopefully that's a good sign. They are going to keep her overnight just so that they can keep...

Re: Allergies ? kinda long

Thanks everyone. Ok, here is a question... Are these symptoms of allergy dogs? Or is this something else to be concerned about... Today Monty (who normally has a huge appetite) hasn't even touched his food. He's thrown up 3 times today (like a yellow bile). And this last time, he sat and looked towa...

Re: Allergies ? kinda long

Our dog also has some major allergies. The vet put him on steroids which clears up the rash and helps with the itching. Our vet recommended Blue Buffalo, about $45 for 30 lbs. The second option was California Natural, a little pricier but nothing outrageous. Both avoid fillers and wheat, which we a...

Allergies ? kinda long

Ok, so I've had Monty since November, when I got him he had a big patch of hair missing on his backend (from the base of his tail to just in front of his hips). I kept feeding him the dog food he was on and when I realized he was itching a lot and biting his feet (which I've know as a sign of allerg...

Re: How can someone think THIS is ok??

First off good for you for saving him!!!! He looks soooo much better! And happier!!! Those before pics almost brought me to tears :( I can't stand people! I'd like to take his old owners and starve them as badly as that poor pup was! If only it was possible!!! He's a very pretty guy!
