it's hard to say what the problem is with so little information. you might infact be feeding too much. an excess of food can cause soft poops.

roxy didn't gain any weight after being spayed, other than the normal weight from growing. i didn't adjust her food or anything, i just make sure she gets enough excersize. she's a lean 48 lbs.

i've always heard this was linked either to diet or allergies. when we first got roxy she was eating eukaneuba and had horrible eye boogers. every morning there would be these huge goobers in the corner of her eyes. the minute we switched foods they lessened, and now on barf it's reduced to little w...

i read that article a while back, as i like to read both pro and con articles on barf. it can be somewhat intimidating, but like someone said, take it with a grain of salt. anything can be slanted to achieve a certain effect. fast: so veternarians created barf to have a steady supply of sick dogs? f...

at petco you can get natural balance, which is good, and at petsmart you can get blue, also good.

it can be a complex formula that is very daunting to a newbie. I researched it a while back and thought - no way, I don't do that much preparation on MY food! A lot of stuff is ground or processed and mixed into a mush, and it seems to take a lot of work. i can see your point here. i think a lot of...

if you're really interested in doing a barf diet, i reccommend you look into it more. it's not expensive at all if you find good places to buy your stuff. i recently found turkey necks for 29 cents a lb. at this price it costs me about $20 a month to feed roxy and she eats a little more than a lb of...

I was thinking about constructing one in my basement (just because my back yard is not big). Our ceiling is exposed beams.

i was thinking the same exact thing! i was worried she might fly into a wall or something though. haha.

Do you guys have a set eating/drinking schedule for you dogs, like hourly times throughout the day? i think most of us have a regular schedule for feeding. in my case, roxy has breakfast (her veggies/offal/sometmes grains) at around 8am and her dinner (rmbs) anywhere from 6pm-7pm. sometimes she eat...

let's say 2 1/2 cups per day, that would also be per feeding. 2 1/2 cups in the morning and 2 1/2 cups @ night, correct. no, the 2 1/2 cups is per day. you would split that amount into two feedings, as someone else mentioned above. so your dog would get a little more than a cup of kibble at each me...

happy tail syndrome

i was wondering what everyone's experience with happy tail syndrome is? roxy has busted the end of her tail a few times, but it's never anything serious, requiring vet attention. where do you draw the line on when to keep letting it happen (so long as it's not serious), wrapping the tail, or docking...

If it's just on the head, and your pup isn't suffering too much, I would try and wait it out. It's really common in pups, and most of them can get over it on their own. i completely agree. roxy had some localized demodex and after initially going to the vet for treatment, we decided to wait it out....

you can also see if your vet accepts friends of animals certificates. how it works is, you buy a certificate from friends of animals (around $80 i think) and they pay for the surgery itself (you pay for any other costs incurred). if your vet accepts it, you'll be saving some cashola. the website is ...
