She's only 2 1/2. She's definitely not in any kind of pain and is in perfect physical condition.

She was at the vet about a month ago, just for her general check up and the vet said everything looked good. I'll look into the thyroid thing though.

depression?

Roxy has just not been herself lately and I'm not sure why. She's gone from a dog who always wanted to play and be around her people to one who just lays around all day. The only time she seems to be excited about anything is the 10 minutes after either I or my boyfriend gets home. She doesn't want ...

unexplained limping

My friend's dog has been limping for no apparent reason on and off for a few weeks. Initially, it was one of his front paws and now it's a back one. The dog is otherwise very healthy and doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort. He's only 17 months old. What I initially thought was perhaps he's ...

we actually have two blue brindles right now! It's weird because in this area you never ever see blue pits.

It's sad because someone obviously tried to make the other one we have fight (she has the typical leg and face wounds) but she LOVES other dogs.

Calypso loves everyone as long as they’re not a cat, which to her, look like fun toys! She thrives on interac...

Just a sidenote about the babyfood: some babyfood includes onion powder and onions are toxic to dogs. Normally it wouldn't be a huge deal, but with a sick puppy it's likely to have more of an effect.

I just moved from an area where I could take Roxy, who's very drivey and very active, for two mile walks and be relatively left alone to an area where every dog is off leash, so walks have significantly decreased. We don't have a yard, so we've had to figure out other ways to get enough exercise. 1....

Roxy is crated when we're not home. When we got her, we were living with my mom and her four cats, so leaving her loose with them was not an option. In our apartment complex, the management can enter your apartment in the event of an emergency if you're not home. The last thing I need is a lost dog ...

I've pretty much contacted everyone I can think of, but no takers yet. I'm realistic though, she pretty much has to be out of the shelter by tomorrow.

MAY BE FLOPPY'S LAST CHANCE!!!

Floppy has had a rough few months. She was initially surrendered at the shelter by her owner with another dog. The owner said she couldn't care for them. We were able to get a rescue to take the other dog, an eskie, but Floppy stayed behind. She was adopted by some of our volunteers and their cat an...

Well, today Tough Love is going to the vet to have her leg looked at. It seems to be getting worse rather than better. Chances are it's going to need to be amputated.

We're still looking for a foster where she could recouperate in a quiet, serene environment.

Yea, it does look more like an attach than she was actively fighting. Unfortunately, we do have a lot of young kids in the area who actually use bait dogs and things like that. She's feeling better today. She's walking around a little more and makes some effort to get up when you go to pet her. We w...

Oh no, haha, like I said, she just makes funny faces. We're not sure how she is with other animals since she just came in today. She didn't react to any dogs walking pass her cage today, so that's a good sign.
