Re: heading to the working dog club tomorrow...

Took the rottie boy out for another walk this evening... he is just so squishy. I am so interested to see how he does at bitework tomorrow. I know he is going to act like a crazy puppy in the house (because that is how he acts at the boarding facility), which did I mention we only do seniors here......

heading to the working dog club tomorrow...

... to do some bite work with a rottie! Then we are brining him home for a trial sleepover:) I am soooooo excited! We have not trained since December with Max. I know it's going to be bitter sweet, being there with out him. And it's going to be so different. Max was a 50 lb., half blind, ancient, pi...

Re: The big bad "C" word :(

I didn't have the growth sent out for biopsy because I just can't handle the official results. If I don't have the official results it can't be true... right? I know I still have a few good years left with her, but I am already starting to feel the loss. Now I won't feel guilty about giving her an ...

Re: laryngeal paralysis

Thank you so much everyone. We found out on Friday that more than likely she has a mass on her brain. Oh no!!! What changed??? I'm so very sorry... It's hard to describe but I will do my best. It looks like one of her legs falls asleep. All of the sudden one of her back legs would slowly go limp. Th...

laryngeal paralysis

We brought Lily into the vet last night. She had been sneezing a lot over the last few days, and then yesterday she started these terribly disturbing breathing/gasping fits. Our vet assumes it's laryngeal paralysis. I think the next step is to do a light sedation and take a look down her throat to k...

Re: Fostering with a DA dog?

I have fostered while having my DA Lily. We have to keep all dogs separated from her, it takes a lot more work but it's doable. We have never had a fight. Short-term fosters stay down in our finished basement and either my boyfriend or myself stays down there with them. Our one and only (so far) lon...

Re: Lymph Node removal post-op condition questions

My main question is: Can the fact that she just had two lymph nodes removed (a pretty major surgery in my book) be causing the lymph node near her arm pit area to swell? Can this be a typical reaction to a surgery?? Rebecca, when Max had his mast cell tumor removed his lymph node in his arm pit swe...

Re: Positive Vibes for Tyson

If I were you, I would have the surgery to have the big worrisome lumps removed (especially the one in the photo that came up over night) and make sure the surgeon takes super wide margins. Early stages of mast cell cancer are curative with removal. If you can't afford it, don't send them off to be ...
