Re: Max grew another lump, the vet mentioned the C word

Thanks again for all the warm words and support. I shared this thread with Neil last night for the first time and I think it helped him as well. I stayed home from work again today and am so relieved that Max is having a very comfortable morning. :(( how can I even begin to thank you all... the post...

Re: Max grew another lump, the vet mentioned the C word

I wish I could tell you all that he is doing better or that he has a chance at recovery, but the truth is that he does not. His body is done. The only thing keeping him going is his pit bull strenght, his stubborn sprit and his absolute love and devotion to us.
We are giving him peace tomorrow.

Re: Max grew another lump, the vet mentioned the C word

Thank you everyone. I just don't know what I am going to do without him. He came into our home as a foster two years ago January 4. And we adopted him when we received his diagnosis. So we totally knew what we getting ourselves into, but it doesn't make it hurt any less. He is happily chewing on his...

Re: Max grew another lump, the vet mentioned the C word

Thanks Julie. His huge lump I was telling you about was determined to be inoperable yesterday. Which was very difficult to hear but actually for the best, as we did not want to put him through another surgery. Tell Shay she better stay strong! Thank you Beowulf for you kind words. I gotta get off he...

Re: not eating & shiverring

I believe the shivering is a sign of pain, that with no eating and vomiting- I would take her to the emergency vet ASAP.

Not sure what it could be, maybe a blockage, but she sounds to be in severe distress.

Re: Max grew another lump, the vet mentioned the C word

10 1/2 months later and the cancer has caught up with him practically over night. Christmas eve was physically a very bad day. But mentally it was great because my sister (the dogs absolute favorite visitor) and her boyfriend spent the evening at our house. And, of course, Max was able to rally to e...

Re: I don't think he can a thing!

So the subject should read: I don't think he can *hear* a thing! lol And now that I have that cleared up, I am realizing that it's not entirely true! He can hear, I just have to shout. I guess it's a good thing we don't have anyone renting upstairs. Thank you for the tips on stomping and th...

Re: Peeing and not knowing about it?

Yes. Well not me personally, but Lily has had this problem. It started to happen once in a great while at about age 8. Then at about 9.5 she was having quite a few accidents, most while she was sleeping. We talked to the vet, ran an UTI test that was negative, then put her on incontinence medication...

I don't think he can a thing!

I think Max may have gone completely deaf. I don't think he hears anything anymore (and it's not that he just isn't listening either lol ). I first noticed it the weekend before Thanksgiving. I had him in the backyard with me getting everything put away for winter. He loves to hang out in the yard b...
