Best advice ever. If you don't want to go back to Baltimore, you can just move to VA! lol Just kidding, Erin (kind of ...) -- I really hope you're able to find a solution!

Re: Possibly ISO Adult/Senior APBT -- VA

Wow, I didn't expect results so fast! Thanks, everyone -- we will definitely keep everyone updated on my mom's progress with possible adoption. She's one of those people who wants/needs to make sure everything is in order before bringing a dog home. I commend her for it.

Possibly ISO Adult/Senior APBT -- VA

My mom just lost her cat a few months ago, and is starting to think about possibly adopting a dog. She's definitely not in any rush right now, we're just starting to talk about it. In the past, we'd toyed with the idea of her adopting an older adult or senior dog -- male/female, doesn't matter -- bu...

Re: hair loss in a puppy

Yup, probably demodex. The vet should give you options -- I've seen Ivomec and Promeris done. The quicker you get the pup in and confirm a positive skin scrape, the quicker you can start treatment. Good luck!

Re: oh lord...embarrassing injestion....

The fiance and I just watched an episode of "My Dog Ate What?" last week -- it had a dog who'd eaten tampons. Granted, I think it was like 28 tampons -- can't remember if he had to have surgery or not.

Re: Diahrrea what's causing it??

Stick her on a bland diet for a couple days. Have you done a giardia test? I had a pup with horrible diarrhea issues (and weight loss) -- his first giardia test came back negative. But I had another one done soon after and it was positive. Proper medication and he was back to normal. I've heard giar...

Same here. And I love being able to find a food that ALL my dogs do well on. We feed the Pacific Stream formula, and are very happy with the results.

Re: Giardia/Ghiardia? -_- Natural remedies.. HELP!!

Oh, you don't have to convince me! lol I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt, and thinking she's just given 1cc of penicillin once a day for 3 days. Again, not smart if you're not sure about medications and doses and whatnot. But at least I'm hoping she isn't giving 1cc per hour. I think her po...

Re: Giardia/Ghiardia? -_- Natural remedies.. HELP!!

The poster already stated that a FRIEND gave the dog the the antibiotic and that she will not be doing it again. Then she went on to say that she's been giving fluids every hour, it seems to be working, so she's going to continue. Come on guys, our reading comprehension has to be better than that! ...

So you're just giving one cc of penicillin every day without knowing what's wrong with your dog?

I can't remember what the guidelines are for the place we donate at -- but Kane is 40 lbs.

Re: Has your dog ever donated blood?

Kane donates on a regular basis -- usually every 2 months, since we alternate between 2 sites near our house. They love him. Kane's a pretty rambuctious dog, so I was worried about the "spooning" the tech does and him holding still during the donation -- but they figured out he's a huge su...

Re: Giardia/Ghiardia? -_- Natural remedies.. HELP!!

If she's that bad off, just take her in to the vet. I had a pup that had diarrhea BAD, was dehydrated and losing weight VERY fast. The first thing I thought of was giardia, but the test came back negative. I gave metronidazole to try and help, but he was getting worse. Took him to another vet for a ...
