Then there is always the fear that one of your neighbors secretly harbors fear/hatred of pitbulls and decides to drop some poisoned meat in the yard.

With all the stuff in the news, your neighbor's attitudes could change dramatically and people do awful things when they are afraid.

Thanks for your support. I often feel bad that I don't get to the health, gallery, misc., memorial sections enough, but with dial-up, time restricts me to posting in law and press and sometimes visit the others. Thanks again. I will keep you posted. My fear is that he will keep looking normal enough...

No, they didn't do a fecal culture, should I suggest that? He is going for the blood test on Monday and I will have results on Tuesday. I will ask about tests for Lepto. and other things then. Would metronidazole cover many of the things that he could have? BTW, does anyone know if I should fast Doz...

Well, Dozer's blood went away. He has been pretty good except that he takes 3 poops a day. the first one is nice and solid and the next two get progressively softer. Then yesterday when he pooped there was a VERY thick mucous casing on his poop and today blood again. Kyle took him to the vet. We wer...

My boss wants to do a major fundraiser in the ATL area for Ahisma house, but he is doing it through our company (Starbucks) and wants to make sure that the organization is legit so they will approve funding. We do smaller grants called Make Your Mark where Sbux will grant money...

No-kill shelters

My mom and I were talking today about no-kill shelters. I expressed my concern for dogs that never get out or go nuts waiting. I know someone on this board posted a super sad story about a dog that languished for years--it was very sad. I would like to hear some stories from both sides of this issue...

Well, the dogs have never gotten anything more than a rice-sized piece of plastic off of the Nylabones b/c I get the Galileo and the ones for powerful chewers. When they get too chewed I take them away. That is the ONLY thing that I know they won't get big chunks off of. Today I got them a bacon one...
