what kind of food is she eaing? does she drink enough water? maybe she eats yucky things outside, mice from the yard, things like that. you could try giving her greenies chews, they are supposed to help with breath.

have you tried tripe? if you can get some fresh unbleached tripe, he may eat that. there is also canned tripe, www.tripett.com we use his wih our sled dogs if they refuse to eat.

our dogs noses do not fade with the winter and in the darkest of winter the sun is only up for about 4.5 hours. i have noticed however, that if our dogs eat out of a plastic bowl their noses will fade a bit no matter what time of year.

depends on what kind of food you are feeding, if it has lots of fillers (corn, soy etc) you will need to feed more than if it has better ingredients (meat) if he has lots of energy and isnt skinny (ribs and hips showing) then he is geting enough i would think.
