Re: too skinny?

From that picture he doesn't look skinny. I like a trim animal with good muscle tone. I like myself to be also, but right now I'm a bit chunky from the long winter and eating out at work. My pit bulls are a bit chunky too, but we are all getting in shape now that its warming up!

Re: Snacking in the yard

Something I have noticed with my dogs is when I feed them raw, on days they get a lot of bone in their meal, they wont even touch a turd. My pit bulls would never eat poo, but I have sled dogs and a few of them will do it. Not sure if this helps your situation in any way.

Re: Natural Balance Consumer Affairs Complaints

I didn't read through all of the complaints, but I have an allergy dog that I've fed NB venison and potato for a long time. A while back they added pea protien and I wasn't sure if it would affect her so looked around for another food for her. I found the nutro grain free was similar, had pea protei...

Re: Allergy issues-asking for a friend

Has she considered it may be allergies to chemicals? I have one dog that has food allergies and eats nutro grain free venison and potato, but also is allergic to chemicals. I can not use frbreeze or even wash my own clothes in perfumed laundry soap. I get laundry soap that has no perfume or dyes and...

Re: Confused.

I absolutely agree it was my friends fault the dogs died. She grew complacent because they got along 99.9% of the time. What I am trying to say is that your girls may just not get along now that they ghhave been in a few scraps. My two had a few scuffles Years ago then one day a big brawl, now they ...

Re: How to curb barking while kenneled?

I would definitely take them out to potty after feeding. Have u tried giving them something to keep them busy while kenneled? Perhaps a kong with frozen goodies inside .or leave a radio or TV on for them? It may help...

Re: Confused.

What I am about to say may not be 'nice' so be warned. THEY ARE PIT BULLS. Not all pit bulls get along, it is a fact of life with this breed and a few others. This breed has been bred for hundreds of years to fight other dogs. They are probably only a few generations removed from this past. Genetics...

Re: Single protein food?

I have a dog that has allergies, food an environmental. It took a while to find a food that worked with her, actually she was on a raw diet for years but time constraints and money caused e to look for a kibble she Could eat. Natural balance venison an potato worked for her then they added peas so I...

Re: Treats on BARF Diet

I am not much of a treat giver, but when Amelie was on a raw diet I would treat her with things like chicken feet or dehydrated liver bits. She has allergies to a lot of things, so I keep it simple. She is now on a venison an potato kibble due to my lack of time to feed her raw and she is doing pret...

Re: Victoria Australia Councils to crack down on pit bulls

Minister of agriculture and food security?I'm not familiar with Aussie law and government, but I do not see the connection with pet dogs. Aloof and dangerous? Out of all my dogs its my blue Heeler, an AUSTRALIAN breed that is aloof and is a little weird around some people. My pit bills love EVERYONE...

Re: Chewing paws? =/

I forgot to ask what kind of food she eats? My allergy dog's mother had allergies too. The only thing she couldn't have in her diet was corn, but she ate the same food for years before she showed symptoms. She never had environmental allergies though. That is one reason only professionals should bre...

Re: Eating too Quickly?

I would say if he is not choking on it not to worry. All my dogs eat quite fast. I think it takes the pit bulls inside less than two minutes to finish their food, and I always feed them with water in their food. My sled dogs are 'trained' to eat quickly and all that I give them. When its -30 F and w...

Re: Chewing paws? =/

Have you changed any cleaning chemicals in the home? I have one dog that has food allergies and also contact allergies. Her feet bother her to the point that she constantly licks and chews them till they are raw, she also scratches her armpits until they bleed. I used to feed her a raw diet but time...
