Re: Weak/down pasterns Carpal Subluxation Syndrome

how much time does he actually spend in his crate? how much exersize does he get, and what kind? it looks to me (and i may be wrong) that he spends a lot of time in his crate. i notice in one of the photos that he is missing quite a lot of hair on his tail, which could be from laying in the crate. m...

Re: Question about medication dosage

i would email/call the company that makes it. it does seem strange, if the active ingredient is the same percentage.

Re: Question About Foods

i too would stick with what works for your dog. i can not afford the very best food for my guys, but they eat decent (not grocery) food. dogs have been eating a lot of different things since the dawn of time, from scraps around human settlements, to kibbled and bagged feed and done quite well. most ...

Re: My baby is pregnant..need advise!!! and tips

i thought it was a young dog because the op said it was her first time, i guess i thought he meant her first time in heat. probably means her first time pregnant. either way, the female should be spayed. if he does not even know what to feed a pregnant dog, maybe it would be for the best. that way t...

Re: Dog food for blue pit

maybe take her to a vet to be sure she does not have mites. if she does you will need to treat it. i would steer clear of any kibbles with corn or soy or beef, but that is just me, others may have more ideas. as far as bulking her up, genetics play a HUE rrole in an animal's size as an adult, as do ...

Re: My baby is pregnant..need advise!!! and tips

it sounds like she got bred on her first heat. not good for her at all. as said already, just take her in and have her spayed, it may SAVE HER LIFE.

Re: Gypsie Rose has a funky eye today...

the first pic looks like she maybe scratched her eye and irritated the third lid. the second one looks similar to a foster dog i had a few years ago that had cherry eye. did it get better on it's own or did you end up taking her in to have it looked at?

Re: Is my dog fat?

he looks a little chubby, but not as bad as some i have seen. i think if you cut back a little on his food, and do some intense exersize with him, he will shape up rather quickly. work up to intense work if he is not used to it. my dogs like swimming, flirtpole and springpole in the summer. in winte...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

i am on the fence about cropping ears, i have 2 cropped and 4 natural eared pit bulls. i love them all. the 2 that were cropped did not act any different as pups than the uncropped ones, they were all holy terrors! the youngest dog i have that is cropped is 5 yrs, so i have not had any cropped in th...

Re: questions about spaying and avatars

spaying before the first heat is best. i have actually experienced the opposite, amelie was spayed as soon as she started to show her first sigs of her first heat. she does not hump other dogs, nor does she lift her leg. her mother on the other hand was spayed at three years after she had amelie, an...

Re: Hello & pit with cat question

i have 3 cats and 6 pit bulls, they all get along well. the cats will let the dogs know with a stern look, followed by a swat on the nose if the dogs are pestering them too much. i have to comment on the "being hung to strengthen the jaws" what the dog was doing is refered to as a spring p...

was she in heat when she was spayed? we had a female sled dog spayed while in heat and the boys wouldn't leave her alone for days. also it could be a urinary tract infection. maybe take her back to the vet to have her checked?
