At this point, prepare for her to have them in your bed, she probably doesn't have enough time to get comfortable with a whelping box, so that's where she'll likely head. Do a Google search on "whelping box" and you can find some plans for building one. You can try moving the pups there af...

Some of those show leads are no joke. I was checking out a link that someone put up on the UKC board, and this leather braider guy was charging like $60 for custom show leads. Hey, if they gave out cash money instead of pretty ribbons when you won, maybe I'd go for something like that. lol One of m...

Dried bananas are my dogs' special agility trial treats. They tend to like any fruit, though. They aren't super fond of vegetables.

I'd be careful about giving him the egg, too. It's a pretty rich food, I wouldn't give it too often, and with a small dog, I wouldn't give a lot. Also, I don't know if you're giving it cooked or raw? If it's raw, it could give him salmonella. Which causes diarrhea.

Re: Cats and Pits?!?!

Thank you, i cant wait for access!!!! I have a huge problem with stray cats in my neighborhood. Jake killed one that came in our back yard about a year and a half ago. He just killed one this morning too. I know this breed is known to not like cats very much and since we adopted both and do not own...

If he's got teeth, he doesn't need to be nursing - Momma dog would NOT allow puppy teeth on her nipples lol *Talk about painful* . Well, that's not entirely true, it depends on the bitch, and the size of the litter. Tully nursed Tess for nearly 8 weeks, and would have gone longer but I forcibly wea...

You can get some pain meds to make her more comfortable for a day or 2 after the surgery. Most vets give those automatically now, I think. When I had my bitch spayed, at 4, they didn't give me any, but I happened to have some around from another incident (for the same dog, so the dosage was correct)...

If you're at all unsure, ask Cindy. (CD pits) She's very nice about it, I was really worried when I measured Tully for her WP harness, and Cindy said if it didn't fit, I could send it back for free adjustment. But it fit perfectly!

Never. I've given tapewormer occasionally when I've seen tapes, but nothing else. Tess has never had any other form of wormer at all, I had a fecal done when she was a pup, and she didn't have anything, so she was not wormed. I do have a fecal test run now and then, to make sure there isn't anything...

Some bitches do mark. Also, if a male dog has a bladder infection, another male can react to his urine as though it's that of a bitch in season.

I like the CD Pits WP harnesses. If you're going to get a WP harness, it's better to get one custom made to your dog, like the CD pits harnesses.

Some underbites do develop over time, but it's not because of playing tug. You can't "cause" an underbite. Either the dog is going to have one, or it's not.

If you're going to be in Michigan, you absolutely should have your dog on HW preventative. You will need to test the dog before going on it... have the dog tested before leaving, and give the first dose. Then keep the dog on the preventative until winter at least. There isn't that much HW in Arizona...
