Has anyone dealt with a young puppy (8 weeks) having a liver shunt? What supplements worked for you? How long were you able to keep the pup...

I fed it for quite some time but I quit probably 3 years ago so they may have changed their formula. I never had any crystal, UTI etc problems with my boy when he was on it. I honestly had to find something else because the cost just kept going up and up......... Let me know if you hear of anything ...

I am hoping they gave her an NSAID to get you to the consult?? If not call them and get one immediately, there is no reason for her to be in pain.

I am sorry she tore her cruciate.........always a pain in the rear. Sending healing thoughts for recovery !

Personally that answer you got from the vet wouldnt fly with me. I would ask for a stronger med to help with the diarrhea and blood, there is no reason why she should have to deal with all that if it is truly her last days. Also what does it hurt to run a fecal and just SEE if she picked up somethin...

Yep it was a mix of abx and pred to get it to go down. If I recall correctly we did Baytril. What we did was play the waiting game for a little while. We were going to remove the gland if it never went down by itself OR from abcessing on its own. The little guy's went down on its own once the owner ...

If you dont get anywhere with the clinic you had the surgery done, go to the corporate VCA office and file a complaint. That is just ridiculous. As for Booker........we just had a papillion in with a clogged salivary gland, it took awhile to go down but it did. Did they put him on pred? That is the ...
