Khloe needs a foster or forever home- PA

Khloe is a stunning girl who due to no fault of her own has lost two foster homes already. She is currently in boarding, and this poor girl deserves a foster home of her own. I have had the pleasure of meeting Khloe at several events. She has always been very polite, and very sweet. She just wanted ...

Re: Sudden(ish) agressive behavior towards people

Where are you located? It's not by chance in PA is it? The rescue I work with offers $50 spay and neuter for pit bulls and pit bull mixes. No application needed--we just need a simple form to fill out to provide the vet with information, and the $50 payment. I can usually get patients scheduled with...

Re: Part Pit, rescued, now I need advice!

Is she honestly totally safe around the kids? Just wanted to touch on this quote. No child is "totally safe" around any pet. Dog, cat, ferret etc. Anything with teeth can bite. It doesn't matter if she would be a lab, a pit bull, or a toy poodle. I have heard of ferrets getting out of the...

Re: beginner

Shelter kills them in 4 days, doesn't adopt them out. Your area has a ban on them. Yet you want to breed them. Lovely. This forum welcomes responsible breeders as a whole. Responsible means : Health Tested, Titled, Temperment tested, Correctly Bred, etc. Why not enjoy your dogs as pets? Especially w...

Re: Grace- Anyone looking for an active/possibly sport dog a

I suppose Grace has always been home. There is a reason why she has been passed up so many times, people never followed through on her. Everyone else saw it before we did. She is home, she is where she belongs =).

As soon as my contract arrives in the mail, she is offically ours :)

Re: Mast Cell Tumors : Lessons Learned

Right now we are going to try a strict cancer diet. I was using high-quality kibble, but I'm switching this weekend to a strict raw diet with added Omega 3. We have agreed not to put him through additional surgery as it's only a few short months later that a lump reppears, so obviously surgery isn't...

Re: Looking for some rescue resources in nj

Missed my edit time! How can I forget "joey pit" he has been passed up many times because he is Deaf. Such a sweetheart and loves cats! I got to meet him at PBAD two weekends ago and he was such a gentleman! Sunny is also special needs. She has been undergoing orthopediac treatment. I'm no...

Re: Looking for some rescue resources in nj

The rescue I foster for is located in PA, however we have foster homes in NJ, NY and OH. We have many dogs available for adoption currently. I know we a few elderbulls who are just awesome. I am not sure if we have any that are truely "special needs" at this time other than Dahilia. She is...

Re: Mast Cell Tumors : Lessons Learned

Just wanted to ask everyone to keep us in your thoughts. We have yet another lump on Gavin. I am at a loss. I don't know what to do with him. We've tried removal, steriod injections into the tumor sites. From my research radition/chemo doesn't have a huge success rate on the MCT.... I talked to my v...

Re: Grace- Anyone looking for an active/possibly sport dog a

Hi Megan, Where about in Pennsylvania are you, and has Grace been spayed and up to date with her shots? Her rescue is based out of the Wilkesbarre/Scranton Area. We are located near Jim Thorpe. She is spayed, Microchipped, and up to date on all shots. Heartbullies-- Thank you for the tips. We were ...

Re: Foster homes and cat problems

I am so glad to see this thread. My foster dog is not cat safe, and very determined. She's been here six months now and we have only made small improvements. She can walk past a cat outdoors and "leave it" while on lead at a close distance. I haven't had any luck with our indoor cats to da...

Re: Low cost spay/neutering

Luzerne County Pit Bull owners offers "NEPA Pit Fix" a low cost spay/neuter program for pit bulls. It's $50 male OR female. They can also offer reduced rates for other breeds as well, but the cost is a little higher then the 50 for pit bulls. They'll do out of county dogs as well, provided...

Re: May have overpaid for a pup- I need suggestions.

Been there, done that with a horse. I had purchased a horse (from a friend's grandmother). I was told she was 7-9 years old. Stupid me trusted my friend. When I got her papers-- I saw there was something missing from her age. the "1" in front of the 7. She was 17, yes 17 years old vs the 7...
