Hi Ash..This is the right place to be-- They can steer you in the right direction :) . I posted about the pup you told me about as well, hoping someone can chime in about why it's not a good idea. I would really look into reporting this "breeder" especially since it's against PA's law to s...

Gavin is being crated most of the time while I am at work. --- I printed out several pages of the NILF things and handed them to my dad, asked him to "please read these"... He said he agreed with it, thought it was a good idea. Now--if he will actually DO it. Gavin has been ok so far while...

"testing" people

Gavin has recently started "testing" people. Really, just my parents. I've made it clear to him that I am boss- what I say goes. We've been doing basic NILIF, Making him sit, working to sleep on bed, working for his food. No couch/chairs other then the dogs "own" couch in the com...

In short: When you take the time to title your dog, especially in conformation shows it proves the dog is up to the breed standard. The dog is correct in type. When you title a dog in aglitiy, obediance, weight pull etc it shows the dog can work--something that is important to the ABPT. Health testi...

Since I've been looking at getting into this breed for awhile now, I've known it may come to having to crate and rotate. Obviously, it's not something I want to do, or would like to do. However, if it needs to be done it needs to be done. I won't fault a dog for being what is true to it's breed. My ...

Cinders Blue(?) and White Female

I saw this pretty girl while I was at the shelter on Sat. She is SO pretty, and SO sweet. She has the softest fur. She seemed to walk well on the leash for the volunteers, has such a pretty smile, and loves people. She was greeting anyone--and everyone. They say she does well with dogs- from what I ...

Just an update- She is still at the shelter, and has been renamed Baby. They still haven't listed her on the petfinder page. Unfortantly, they did not take her to the shelter I hoped they would take her to. The girls boyfriend took her to the shelter, she just told me the other day she's considering...

I read this thread when it was posted, but never came back to it. I'm glad I decided to today. This is such an amazing story. I was really hoping that her orignal family would get to take her back- I'm so glad she is back home.

Will they be joining the forum?

My Nephew(who is 3) loves to "play" with gavin. Gavin has accidently nipped him. Aadin grabbed gavins toy, gavin sat there waiting for him to throw the toy. Aadin got distracted by the tv, Gavin saw the toy just hanging there --jumped for the toy, and the way my nephew was holding it- his ...

I did not get the bloodwork done with Gavin. However, the vet suggested to get it done with the older dogs. Last year, both dogs went under (They were 7) and both had blood-work done. This year, venus had to go under yet again- Vets advice was since it was almost a year, to have the bloodwork done a...

I've noticed when Gavin comes to a "trot" while out playing in the yard- his front legs are "straight" and his back end is slightly to the right, and he tends to run on a slight slant... I've noticed this with my sisters Pit bull, too. Both are shelter dogs. I do notice though, t...
