All of my dogs have done their best on TW. It seems to take about two months see really see the results. After the first month the gas seems to go away. Also if you over feed, they will over poop. roflmao here is my last shipment from TW. :peace: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b140/hoss3430/threa...

beckerhead wrote:Hoss, how much do you feed, & what is your dogs weight?

Gator gets 1.5 cups a day when he is not worked too hard, 2 cups when we abuse the crap out of him. He weighs in at 45-48 pounds. Rose gets 1 cup a day and is about the same weight. She rarely ever gets worked, lol she is a lazy bitch.!

beckerhead wrote:You can just math it out right quick Misskiwi.

Orijen= 60g protein per cup, 24g fat per cup

Your food= 31.5g protein per cup, 16.5g fat per cup

But that is only 1/2 the equation. You need to know how many cups needed to maintain the dog in order to make a comparison.

I have explained it before, but here it is again, but I will try a different approach. Dog food A. contains 20% protein. you need to feed 4 cups a day to a 60# dog. That means, 20% of 4 cups, which is 600 grams of food times 20% = 120 grams of protein. Thats the total daily intake, for brand A. dog ...

Misskiwi67, good info, but, lol, one problem. The % of protein does not make much difference, it is the total amount of grams of protein that makes the difference. 20% protein, feeding 4 cups, is the same protein as 40% protein at 2 cups. So saying that over 30% is a waste is not accurate at all. Yo...

But, feeding in excess makes a lot more poo, cutting back to a correct amount could result in nearly zero weight loss.

I would cut back the food by 25% every two weeks, weighing weekly. Your dog should lose 2% of his body weight per week on a proper diet/excercise plan. I certainly wouldn't go cutting his food in half quite yet! Work your way down until you determine the correct amount of food for weight loss, and ...
