But, feeding in excess makes a lot more poo, cutting back to a correct amount could result in nearly zero weight loss. :thumbsup:

I would cut back the food by 25% every two weeks, weighing weekly. Your dog should lose 2% of his body weight per week on a proper diet/excercise plan. I certainly wouldn't go cutting his food in half quite yet! Work your way down until you determine the correct amount of food for weight loss, and ...

Thats the reduced amount? 1 cup twice a day, with lots of exercise would be plenty for a dieting program. What about treats? Some dogs diets are 1/2 treats now a days. roflmao
