Sorry for the length of this post - I couldn't figure out any way to share without it being long. :) I attended the Legislative Panel Discussion re AB 1634 from the Animal Care Conference yesterday in Sacramento. Judie led the panel presentation, covered the bill and the changes they made recently. ...

Brian - Maximus clearly thrives on what you're feeding him, Iwish I had your energy and commitment to do the same but sadly, mine will have to make do with their Flint River until such time I retire after winning the lottery! But at risk of getting back on topic, this food HAS officially made it in...

I suspected Blue Buffalo....there will be others. FDA press conf going on now. Blue Buffalo has just pulled on of its products, Spa Select Kitten Dry Food, product code: “Best Used By Mar. 07 08 B.” The link, according to the company, is rice protein concentrate. Blue Buffalo is here: We have taken ...

Yep, and Blue Buffalo has been questioned about the rice gluten in their foods, they have refused to respond. Silence is deafening.

Since our wonderful FDA is allowing the companies who received and are using the tainted rice gluten to come forward on their own, we are on our own about what to feed, whether they have or have not been recalled yet. Check out the Itchmo site, the growing list of food products that do contain rice ...

It sure seems like something is up - and all fingers point back to China. Gotta love that whole free trade thing. http://tinyurl.com/2u3fn3 Anyway, users on the Itchmo site are going a great job at posting all the foods made with rice gluten (and I saw lots of corn gluten). Wellness has several diff...

Yes, supposedly that particular batch is just in SA. But who really knows, we're all finding out new ones every day it seems.

I personally think these five companies in question now will wait until Friday afternoon before the weekend to announce who they are.

There are so many threads, but I figure this is the best place. Corn Gluten, Rice Protein, Wheat Gluten - all from CHINA. WTH, why are we allowing our pets (and likely ourselves) to ingest anything from China. http://www.702.co.za/news/news.asp Royal Canin reveals toxin in pet food Royal Canin South...

We were inside...bldg 12 on the back wall, we had the two gigantic pit bull beach towels on eitherside of the Villalobos Rescue sign. Next to us were the Staffy Bulls, they were so cute. Cesar Millan's booth was in our same row but further down....

Hey, thanks - I'm going to check into Felidae (the cat version) tonight. Interesting that the rep said to be aware of the vegetable source of protein seeing that Natural Balance is recalling foods because they enhanced the protein source with rice powder, which turns out is from China and tainted wi...

In my opinion, which is just my opinion, this bill can only improve the situation for dogs and cats in California. I mean seriously, there are already stricter spay/neuter laws in place passed by cities, and more will follow suit so I would think everyone would want to pass a statewide law that ever...

Lefty's Collarmania - gorgeous boy

So Villalobos Rescue was exhibiting at last weekends O.C. Pet Expo (a HUGE event) and Tia was bringing Lefty, one of her movie dogs (Alphadog, Domino). I flew down and worked the booth for the three days and wanted a special present for Lefty and Tia. Lisa was awesome...helped pick out the colors an...

but jeezus, it's discouraging when the Press section of PBF doesn't set off some alarm bells for people here. Dawgdayz - for me, the Press section of this forum scares me to death. I dread going in there because it is so evident we are losing ground fast and anything that helps stop more pit bulls ...
