Re: anyone with issues with there dogs chewing feet

The problem is that many of these (quality) kibbles use vegetable oils as a replacement for saturated fats. Canola oil, and any other seed oil, causes IBS/digestive issues (which lead to nutritional problems) AND inflammation.

Re: anyone with issues with there dogs chewing feet

the high Omega 6's I planned for and give the Omega 3 dose daily.(850mg DHA/EPA combined) Bump that up to 1g/10lbs of dog for a while, especially since the dog was kibble fed. You'll need to be fixing the cellular 6:3 ratios for EVERY cell. You can also use MCT (flavorless) or coconut oil as a supp...

Re: anyone with issues with there dogs chewing feet

Dogs are not people I never said they were. Read Dogtor J's site. His was the first that mentioned secondary allergies and since then there are MANY on the raw feeding forums who've tested this theory and PROVEN their dogs are not allergic to grass fed/pastured chicken. mhocker10, I'd strip the chi...

LMW enhancement free = chicken, and beef, beef liver, Beef Heart, chicken hearts all locally sourced from area farms from my local butcher shop... as well as an Omega 3 supplement...

Re: Anal gland question

one of my dogs gets a lot of anal gland issues when I add Salomon oil to her diet. Have tired many brands, many times and always the same outcome. Just wondering if you've tried coconut oil? Many of the same benefits in Salmon can be found in coconut oil and some breeders swear by it... (I didn't g...

Re: Grain Free, LowProtein diet for Skin, Kidney & Behavior?

You'll also need to supplement with probiotics/dirt to get the best benefit.
70% fat diets seem to be a sweet spot... and avoid issues with kidneys (rabbit starvation).

Re: Anal gland question

Well...I can't really elaborate more on the fact that when he would get stopped up, I'd make an appointment to see his DVM ...who also practiced Chiro. She was well known in agility and was able to get him from moving sideways, like a crab, to straight. (I"m a former horse trainer, so gait is R...

Re: Anal gland question

I also wanted to add that many vets think this is an issue with FIBER... NOPE.. I tried increasing Monte's fiber content (oh, believe me, I tried everything!) and it made the issue worse. A healthy diet with Raw Meaty Bones helped fix his issues more than anything. Google Raw Meaty Bones for more in...

Re: Anal gland question

Learn how to check and express your dog's anal glands...It isn't a big issue..but YES it is stinky.
